TGJ promote their TV show so that’s probably why they put their picture up to help promote the new season. They did the same thing yesterday, look at the MJ section. TGJ is fam sis, so we know it’s no shade.

Both put out solid albums, and the public clearly recognized their talent – and I think the public is ready for a change in music. Ariana is helping to shift pop music back to a more r&b-infused pop, and people should be thankful for that. Tamar can sing her ass off, and there are some really great tracks on Love and War. Moral of the story – work hard, showcase the talent rather than all of the other nonsense b*******, and you will succeed. Congrats to both – well-deserved.

Great sales for an R&B album in today’s climate, especially considering that her debut album was 13 years ago and the fact that her lead single and second singles were R&B smashes and the lead was moderately successful on the Hot 100. Very happy for Ms. Braxton. Now I’m ready for her sister to slay. I also loved Ariana’s album.

Hits Daily Double is only a prediction wait till the sound-scan numbers come out tomorrow or Thursday they could be higher or lower than HDD have the sales. for example HDD had Faith Hill’s last studio album at 311.675 copies it’s first week but Sound-scan pegged it at 330k 18.325 more. at least Tamar hasn’t had to shoot a video since Logan was born like Faith Hill and Tim McGraw did for their duet Just To Hear You Say That You Love Me shortly after their middle daughter Maggie was born in fact that video had to be shot in close up to avoid showing Maggie who was sleeping in Faith’s lap during the shoot. that album is also Faith’s 2nd best selling at 6x platinum in the US it’s Follow Up 1999’s Breathe being her best selling at 8x platinum. Love & War will be Lucky to eventually get platinum. Country now routinely outsells R&B. for example Mariah Carey’s last studio album only managed to go Gold in 2009 while Faith Hill’s released 4 years prior went 2x platinum

That’s the way the business works & whoever holds that site knows it. AND she has been promoting this album for over a YEAR. (Which I don’t blame her for. If they give it to you, take it).
BUT the music business is a marathon, not a 100 meters. And to even be considered as a success, she HAS to sale at least 250000 albums. So people should AT LEAST wait 3 weeks to a month to declare it a success or failure because numbers can tell you whatever they want depending on how you read them.
EXEMPLE:
We could also say that:
90% of those sales, she did BEFORE the first week (She apparently said so herself): that’s the result of the reality show hype, & HUGE promotion gigs she got.
But how much of those sales will she keep in the second week? Because the 17000 1st week sales, plus the ones coming after will be the result of people liking her work or not. They are the ones who bought the album AFTER discovering the songs.
Now I’m gonna take the K-Michelle comparison because that’s the one she’s most compared to (And I DO think that they sound the very same). Don’t jump on me please, I don’t like either of them (but taste is not in question here).
K sold 72000 first week (Hype & pre-sales included) AND she kept 33% on those sales alive in the second week (22000).
Her total so far: around 110000.
I personally see it hard for either of them to make more than 200000 but only time will tell so keep calm & watch.
