Chris Brown Delays ‘X’ Until December / Set For Chart Showdown With Britney Spears

Published: Wednesday 16th Oct 2013 by Sam

‘X’ may mark the spot. Just not now.

Chris Brown‘s ever-moving new album has been handed yet another release date.

Details after the jump…

After a myriad of missed arrival dates (dotted through Spring, Summer, and Fall), the ‘Fine China’ led set was most recently scheduled to impact retail on November 19th.

However, this morning saw the dynamo performer confirm what fans had suspected – the project has once again been pushed back.

Taking to Twitter, the 24-year-old revealed the new date and how he plans to reward ‘Team Breezy’ for their loyalty.

The messiness of the ‘X’ episode no doubt speaks for itself. However, though never a guarantee, the Holiday release window could be the life-line the project needs. After all, wallets are extra generous come the festive season.

Interestingly, the new date will see Brown go head-to-head with Britney Spears, whose ‘Britney Jean’ LP arrives on the same day. And while  the fact the pair are on the same label lets us know who’ll really be “winning”, who’ll most likely be getting your coins come December 3rd?

I’m sorry to say this (actually I’m not), but no matter when he releases the new music it still won’t do well. He gives himself to much bad press and he sucks at interviews. Every time the general public start to give him a chance he screws up.

    • zania October 16, 2013

What bad press he gave, going after Wendy after she disrespected Kae for no reason. Look how old Wendy is and calling that girl names, she deserved it.

  13. zania October 16, 2013

Push back means he change the Track list, I bet Drake is on his album and maybe took some of the previous artist off his album. I am excited, will be buying like 5 copies for xmas.

No, Boy you will flop HARD. Femme Fatale US debut week 276,000 vs Fortune 134,000, No pop single. Don’t come for queen Brit you will be annihilated!

    • zania October 16, 2013

Britney Femme Fatale 2011, debuted at 276,00 but Fame 2011 debuted at 270,00 and now has surpass Britney album. I think CB last album didn’t do too well because he let the public concentrate too much on his personal life with Rihanna and now that is over and people can concentrate on his music again, he will do fine with the Urban audience and some mainstream public. I think he went down after his relationship with Rihanna. His Fame album which won a grammy, almost sold platinum, he sold around 970,000 with that album.

      • Dem Lessors October 16, 2013

LOL, excuses, excuses! Graffiti is the only album you can justify bad sales with the Rihanna incident, he recovered with F.A.M.E. Tho if you wanna talk about second to last album releases Circus sold 505,100, double that of Chris Brown’s again. He will never get that number 1 spot going up against Brit, NEVER!!!

      • zania October 16, 2013

Actually with all the drama around his break up this time wtih Rihanna and Kae, and all the lash out on twitter is what caused his album to underperformed. His Fame promotion was excellent, not who lot of drama and media focus on his comeback and not his relationship with Rihanna and Kae. He pisssed off a whole lot of his urban fans with that Rihanna and Kae relationship and twitter rants, but now that he is back to focus on his music and talent he will do fine.

LOLOLOL accept the fact that no one is checking for Breezy and move on. Fame outsold Femme Fatale? Where?

      • zania October 16, 2013

As of May 2012, F.A.M.E. has sold 872,000 copies in the US

As of January 2013, the album has sold over 778,000 copies.[

    • Dem Lessors October 16, 2013

This one has no recipts. Britney has never had her album pushed back. Oh wait, Jive did bush back Femme Fatale one week to allow F.A.M.E. to reach no.1. Everyone knows Chris is a lessor to Brit, even his employers, nuff said!!!

  15. NT October 16, 2013

Britney will be getting my coin. Chris doesn’t stand a chance in my eyes in an album to album sales battle with the Pop Titan that’s Britney.

  16. All for you October 16, 2013

    BOY BYE!

  17. Rihboy October 16, 2013

Despite his s***** attitude..he makes bomb r&b music ….i will probably purchase his album……as for britney…she hasnt sold me yet…she is giving boring circus realness….seems like alot of people pushing back or holding off…I wonder why…lls

  18. CFLOP October 16, 2013

Lol, both their albums will FLOP in the long run. Chris has been making s***** R&B music lately and as for Britney, dance albums don’t sell. Just ask LMFAO, Pitbull, Carly Rae Jepsen etc.
Has Femme Fatale passed the 1 million mark yet in America? I’m laughing at the fact that 4 sold more copies and it didn’t have a hit single.

  19. *ℙᏫℙ ℝᏫᎩAℒᎿᎩ* October 16, 2013

The label Is Setting Him Up.

  20. LOL October 16, 2013

  21. LOL October 16, 2013

  22. HOWYOULIKEIT October 16, 2013

Ok. But it is going to flop even harder

  23. Scheissethroned(GrapejuiceKing) October 16, 2013

Chris is the new AZEALIA Banks!

  24. Queen Brit Brit October 16, 2013

Chris will be crushed by Britney. When it comes to first week sales, Britney dominates. Chris is just a teen heartthrob who has over stayed his welcome. He’s not meant to last in the long run. LOL

    • GoldenBoy J October 16, 2013

exactly!! and he’s not even hot anymore, everyone thinks he’s just an asshole.

    • Dem Lessors October 16, 2013

  25. Bey Is Grown October 16, 2013

Lol,just release it and get it over with, push backs or no pushbacks it will flop,im expecting him to flop harder than Ciara.

  26. eric October 16, 2013

People have to buy into your attitude and personality before they’ll buy your product. That’s Business 101. He’s gotta stop whining and making excuses for himself when he doesn’t get his way.

  27. The Boy Toy October 16, 2013

None of his singles have impressed me thus far so I’ll pass. 🙂

  28. Mark111 October 16, 2013

X will do less than 50K, bet that! He’s the new Ciara, that label treat their urban artist like s***, Usher better move to Epic, cause RCA don’t give a f*** about their R&B artist. Plus Chris can’t get a hit for s***. So freaking funny, he will be dropped or not resigned.

    • zania October 16, 2013

Well is #3 behind Drake and Robin thick on R & B chart so he’s not doing too bad. #31 on hot 100

      • Mark111 October 16, 2013

iTunes chart doesn’t mean anything. He’s #3 behind an album that came out months ago and 3 weeks ago.

      • zania October 16, 2013

3# on Billboard chart with that single Love more, so I say again, he isn’t doing too bad.

      • Mark111 October 16, 2013

Oh, ok. That song is dope, but will it be fresh in Dec?

  29. JER October 16, 2013

    LOL Ashanti ha impact

  30. IKNOWTHETRUTH October 17, 2013

This album will not come out in 2013.
