It was supposed to serve as the strongest launching pad for his forthcoming album ‘Honest‘.
However, thanks to comments made by Hip Hop vocalist Future, he has been booted from Drake‘s forthcoming ‘Would You Like A Tour?‘, and now gears up to face the ‘Hold On’ performer in a $1.5 million legal battle.
An unfortunate story below…
After joining ‘Adorn’ singer Miguel in signing to support Drake on the tour, Future took to Billboard to share his thoughts on the very album the tour was launched to support, sharing:
‘Drake made an album that is full of hits but it doesn’t grab you. They’re not possessive; they don’t make you feel the way I do.”
Upon learning of the quote’s publication, Future’s management team reportedly made an attempt to discredit the interviewing journalist- Billboard associate Erika Ramirez– by claiming his words had been taken out of context.
Unfortunately, their efforts to have the quote pulled down effectively came to no avail, as it was spotted by Drake himself, who- in retaliation- ordered his agent to fire Future from the tour or risk being fired himself.
Some time later, Future was fired but was called back to renegotiate a potential return to the show last week.
Alas, after Drake‘s camp demanded he make financial concessions the ‘Body Party’ writer pulled out of the tour for good over the weekend and is now planning to sue the ‘Started From The Bottom’ MC for $1.5 million dollars.
A lawsuit, that will see Future claim that his firing from the show saw him suffer a ‘loss of earnings’.
$40,000 a night to be exact.
