With R. Kelly readying new album ‘Black Panties’ for release on December 3rd, no time seems more apt than the present to serve up another taste of the hotly anticipated LP.
Today saw the Pied Piper unwrap oven-hot cut ‘Cookie’.
An unapologetic bedroom number, the gritty track is no doubt destined for major play on Urban radio and in the strip club.
Take a listen after the jump…
If ‘Pour It Up’ had an older, more seasoned brother, this would be he.
That said…
Color us prudes, but uber explicit rarely rocks our world – and more often than not could be relayed in more creative ways. Still, the fact that Kelly possesses the lyrical pen-power to write about any and everything (even at 46 years old) sees us eternally tip our hat.
Musical genius

OMG this nicca right here is hilarious! I guess he’s showing ’em how it’s done these days. R is never scared to go all in..these mf better take NOTES!
Take notes is what they better do this n**** been in the game for over 25 years
This S*** Hot Man ! #Replay
This song is s*** but I won’t act like Kellz hasn’t released some classic Rnb joints that were overlooked over the years
This will slay… the white media wanted to destroy him like the did to the king of pop am glad he is bouncing back.
He clearly isn’t concerned with getting a hit song or album. This will do him no favors. This is not the direction he needs to go with his career.
So nice to see the industry’s music is selling s** instead of the talent of the artist. I guess Kelly is the male Rihanna, Miley’s. Kelly don’t have to make songs like this he can sing. Now who in their right mind will buy this s***. Kelly audience is a much mature crowd. SMH
because if he sings about his struggles and ups and down you will not buy it.. artist of now are left with no choice.
If you’ve followed R. Kelly over the years then you’d know this is nothing new. He released an album full of love music like a year or two ago and no one checked for it.
