The best songs/singles from her album if you include “Livin’ It Up” and “Body Party”. She needs to roll out videos for all of them NOW if she wants the album to at least go gold. Those songs are great. “I’m Out” wasn’t. And, “Body Party” needed a single alongside it or at least a better follow up. Maybe she and Nicki should have released “Livin It Up” instead. She needs to use all these songs mentioned wisely.

As a die hard Ciara, I was not feeling the Overdose performance at all. But DUI and Read My Lips were really good. She’s definitely improved vocally and has gained more control, but she needs to have more confidence in her vocals. She still tends to hold back on hitting certain notes, belts and runs. But anyway, I am glad she and Epic are still pushing this album. More than likely, DUI and Read My Lips will be the next singles after Overdose…

Having vocal strength depends on the resonating quality ur voice can showcase no matter ur range. Ciara’s voice doesn’t hit hard. Sorry. It is weak and Aaliyah had a much more powerful voice than Ciara. Ciara could probably not pull off “The one I gave my heart to” without strain and a nasal quality.
Ciara is NOT a lyric coloratura soprano, that vocal fach doesn’t even exist. Ciara does not have coloratura abilities therefore she is not a coloratura soprano. Also her tessitura does not even lie in the soprano range so she is not even a lyric soprano. Her voice type is that of a lyric mezzo-soprano. Lastly, yes her voice is weak for a lyric mezzo because she does not even know how to properly resonate her voice.

Ciara is in the same boat as Britney, Janet and even Madonna, the beat and production is the key to their music sounding good, never their voice, their voices aren’t bult for acoustic. She did good on Read My Lips, but Overdose needs to be a performance. The bare min is Keri Hilson, she did a level above ok.
BUT, Ciara sounds better than MOST pop stars. Miley and the rest of those Disney scrap pieces. But at the end of the day, Like Janet (and what Britney USED to be) she’s a dancer first, then singer. Last I checked, dnacing is a talent.
