Christina Aguilera joins Epic’s ‘A Great Big World‘ in releasing a Pop masterpiece today, joining forces to record the latter’s ‘Say Something‘!
Marking cooler and calmer territory for the ‘Let There Be Love’ vocalist, this version of the number comes after Aguilera heard it being spun during an episode of Simon Fuller‘s ‘So You Think You Can Dance’ and – after becoming enamoured by the release- called on its creators to forge the duet you’ll no doubt fall in love with below…

With talk of a new Aguilera album heating up, the above goes a long way to prove that all signs should point to Adult Contemporary this time around, especially with ‘Lotus‘ finding the bulk of its ‘commercial glory’ in the cuts akin to this and not the ‘Your Body’s and ‘Let There Be Love‘s of her world.

Xtina girl: this is your sound. You sound beautiful when you sing like this. Try albums with adult contemporary sound and that´s it. You´ll probably never have a hit single ever again if you do so… but so what? Talent is more important and it´s not like you´re going to get a new hit for sure if you release Your Body type of songs.
Oh and please don´t ever belt again. Give us “S** for Breakfast” type of vocals and songs and that´s it.

Decent listening but nothing epic. Good to hear her NOT trying to do every “soulful” run in the book and NOT trying to scream notes out of her range. Pleasant .
Actually, Christina’s run’s, high notes and soulful vocals is what makes her one of the Greatest vocalist of today.
Christina needs to start making more music like this. This was just great.

OK she doesn’t sell anymore like ten years ago, but hardly no one does! I remember times when Celine Dion sold 20 Million records in two hours – thats long gone and no one can do that anymore!
And yeah she belts a lot but she has always had songs on her albums where she showed versatility. I for one love that she gives everything her own spin! If she feels like belting on her own songs let her do it – no one has to listen! In this case she shows respect to the artists that own the song (its not hers!) and just gives some new perspective to the song.
I want her to do more stuff like that (Save me from myself; Loving me for me; Falling in Love; Birds of prey; Monday Morning)!!!
And no one should give a damn about if its commercially successful! Maybe not even musically relevant but her (and what ever she feels like)!!!
