Soundz The Producer On ‘Promo’ Shy Artists : ‘I Made Bangers The World Didn’t Hear’

In an industry where money’s voice bellows the loudest, creatives are oft tasked with ensuring their work is handed to acts with enough pulling power to generate a praise-worthy return.

Not sure what we mean?

Well, simply because of power her name holds at her record label, radio and over the general public at large , it’d make more sense for Writer A to hand Rihanna a song than it would be to give that same song to an act without the pulling power to make doing so worth ‘Writer’s while.

With this in mind, one can imagine how frustrating ‘Writer A’ may become if material they work tirelessly to perfect is picked up by an entertainer who does all of nothing to promote it…wasting the writer’s time and ultimately ‘robbing’ them of royalties they would have heard had the number been given to act who would have promoted it.

Still following?

Great, for it’s this problem Soundz The Producer has found himself faced with this year, taking aim at those of his collaborators guilty of the crimes laid out above.

More below…

After retweeting a message revealing how many units Ciara’s self-titled LP had sold worldwide, Soundz- who served as one of its producers- shared:

Then, perhaps in response for what they believed to be a dig at the Grammy winning entertainer, members of Ciara’s fan base took to the same platform to respond with:

i can see where he’s coming from , but i don’t think twitter was the proper outlet for him to discuss that.

  2. SevynWon’tStop December 31, 2013

I love my girl Ci, but it seems like she’s too busy being Future’s latest baby mama to help her own career go where it needs to be. What’s sad is that when he wants to promote HIS s*** he’ll do it and won’t stop to think about her.

  3. RiriRoyale December 31, 2013

Is it her fault though? Epic don’t want to spend any more money on it because it flopped so how is she supposed to release new singles without their consent?

  4. CSquadLDN December 31, 2013

There really is no point in stanning for Ciara anymore. If she’s content being just another one of Future’s baby making machines that really is up to her, because I think she’s taking the f****** p*** by not even talking to us or updating us about anything.

  5. MarinasDiamonds December 31, 2013

    Did he lie?

  6. BadGyalRita December 31, 2013

The f***? Didn’t he just tweet this? I deadass just saw this on my timeline just now.

  7. TurntUp4Cici December 31, 2013

If something is stopping her from doing promo she needs to say it soon because I don’t know how long I can take this.

  8. Anon December 31, 2013

Nah, yall be on some spooky s***. Ma n**** just wrote this and yall had all these paragraphs written in how fast?

  9. FAF December 31, 2013

he mad i dragged his lame ass for making unknown songs in ci album
    Ci don’t owe him s***
He tried to get outta pocket bc I said miley need to lay off drugs …

  10. Keyshia Del Rey December 31, 2013

What kind of efficiency though? Y’all post the news as that s*** be happening.

  11. BanjeeRiri December 31, 2013

This website loves Ciara so much it makes me sick. Had ANYBODY else been doing what she’s doing you would have dragged them for ultimate filth.

  12. Keri Krew Kween December 31, 2013

I get where he’s coming from and why a producer would be mad at this but is really surprised? After two flop albums that couldn’t push 300k, why would expect the third one to be better? And I highly doubt Ciara or any artist except the really big ones have any say in what the next single is and how it should be pushed. He should be directing his hate at Epic, not C-error. If he wants royalties he should be producing for bigger artist. Correct me if I’m wrong but don’t all big producers start off working with lesser known artists? I really like Soundz’s work though, I hope this doesn’t discourage him from working with other R&B acts. Besides, it should be about the music not the money anyways. Everyone knows the music industry is shakeu business.

  13. Slayara Harris December 31, 2013

    1. How did you write this up so fast?
    2. Y’all can sit there and call them biased for not dragging Ciara but IDGAF, every other web site I read hates here and this is the only place I can come and read good stuff about her. Which other site was as hard for when the album was coming out and which other site made themselves look like dumbasses when they was talking about how OD was finna slay when it didn’t even get a video.

I’m hurt and annoyed by the whole situation and low key am beginning to wonder if Epic are still right for her.

  14. Molly December 31, 2013

Well i would have preferred DUI as a single over Im Out.. But stop bitching dude (:

  15. Draggin4MrsCarter December 31, 2013

At this point is anybody really surprised that That Ciara Juice is yet to comment on her laziness, they’ve always loved her and secretly wished she had Rihanna’s career.

  16. Molly December 31, 2013

@Keri worry about your forgotten fav alright who tf do you think you are Keri is the dumbest h** in the industry b**** got bold off of 2 hits songs and thought she could try and come for real Divas (Ciara and Beyonce) f**** outta here h** and take that big bird looking b**** with you (‘:

  17. Molly December 31, 2013

@Dragging like you wish Beyonce actually had originality?

  18. Navy Commander December 31, 2013

But what did he expect? He shoulda did he research before giving a song to a flop artist. And if he wanted a lead single, OR A SINGLE AT ALL, he should have got it in writing.

  19. Molly December 31, 2013

    @Banjeebitch mad cause they don’t like R****?

  20. CiciFinnaBeABride December 31, 2013

I had to come off twitter because the other C-Squad gworls were pissing me the f*** off. Like you dead ass mad at TGJ when they be the only ones riding for all these years? I can’t and I f****** won’t. These new Squad members don’t remember what is like during the BI era and how everyone was laughing at her and how hard it was to defend her. Now they see she got a hit with BP they wanna act like they been here from the start when they don’t know why TGJ have been there for her as much as they have.

  21. OverdoseOnSorry December 31, 2013

@CiciFinnaBeABride The Squad aren’t mad at TGJ so stop generalizing when WE all know they love the same way we do. What we’re mad is that the fact that Soundz pinpointed her out like she’s the only one who doesn’t promote and that not all of our opinions were put up here.

  22. Keri Krew Kween December 31, 2013

Its cute that the Z-Group still thinks that Ciara is a factor. I don’t see producers complaining about Keri letting their material flop tho. Ci-error is no diva, just a glorified backup dancer. And dead @ you calling Beyoncé unoriginal when Ci-error has been biting Janet’s style from day one.

  23. Hivy December 31, 2013

OMG I was watching a video with the producer/singer or w/e charlamange and he was talking about Future and Ciara and he called Ciara the past. Future and Past. He said that Ciara had run her course and he hoped she saved up enough money to have a decent life. I screamed when I saw that interview. LMMMAO

  24. BEYONCÉ December 31, 2013

The C-List are quick to drag someone on the blogs and twitter but slow to drag their asses to Target or iTunes to purchase their faves album.

  25. Hivy December 31, 2013

The kii is that Ciara hasn’t updated her twitter since September. LOOL Future can really see the Future. The downfall of Ciara. She should have focused on her music instead of ugly ass future. He probably doesn’t even support her music.

  26. LeviLovesCiara December 31, 2013

Since when did artist have the power to choose their singles and how much promo they get? How is that Ciara’s fault. I like Soundz’s work but the two songs he had on the album were not single worthy at all. If he was looking for a paycheck he should’ve given Miley a call.

  27. BEYONCÉ December 31, 2013

All Ciara cares about is future and fashion. She’s more interested in mingling with socialites at fashion week than giving her fans what they want. She’s been looking stunning lately so maybe she can go into modeling full time because the music thing ain’t happening. Ever.

  28. BEYONCÉ December 31, 2013

I don’t like Rihanna but that b**** gives her fans what they want, even if she has to pay for it herself.

  29. Stephy Tha Lambily December 31, 2013

LOL Ciara be gettig dragged by her own fans! Shestill my girl crush tho.

  30. Tisha December 31, 2013

If there’s ever a next time I’m sure Ciara will struggle to find anyone to work with her.

L.A. Reid and others really tried to give her the benefit of the doubt and give her her best chance to succeed and in the end she’s sitting around full of Future’s baby doing nothing. It’s such jokes when Beyonce has had a baby and just came back with a killer and Rihanna has been hitting those charts. There’s really no room for a lazy #3.

I just see people being done with her basic b*******.

  31. Lana Del Bey December 31, 2013

I agree completly as a budding songwriter I imagine my songs being promoted, I would be upset if a song I worked hard on never got justice
