Looks like Ariana Grande is looking to heed pop rebel Miley Cyrus’ advice after all.
Cyrus once weighed in on Grande’s look and suggested she consider being a little less “sweet”, a sentiment reiterated throughout the industry as critics have weighed in and lent disparaging remarks on the ‘Baby I’ beauty’s fashion and hair.
With the most recent criticisms of her wardrobe at this year’s Grammys reportedly leaving the singer in tears, the pint-sized powerhouse recently shared with Boston’s ‘Mix 104.1′ she wish she had more of Cyrus’ ‘confidence’.
Tuck in below for her thoughts on the ‘Wrecking Ball’ hitmaker, news that she is hard at work on her sophomore album with none other than pop superproducer Max Martin, and more updates on her highly anticipated ‘Yours Truly’ follow-up:
Ariana on Miley Cyrus:
“I think she’s expressing herself, and there’s nothing wrong with adding a little fun into pop culture. I wish I had enough confidence to get naked and sit on a wrecking ball. If you had her body, you’d be on that ball right with her.”
The statement comes just a day after news the songstress will be working with pop producer Max Martin in conjunction with her all-star team of Babyface, Ryan Tedder, Harmony Samuels, and more.
“Well, I’ve been working a lot with the producers that I did my last album with Harmony Samuels and Babyface and The Rascals and Tommy Brown. But, I’ve also been working with new producers like Max Martin; he’s amazing. I love working with him. He’s like a mathematician. He knows music like math. It just makes sense to him,” she added. “And, Savan [Kotecha] and Benny Blanco and Ryan Tedder. I’m so excited. I’m very excited too.”
“[Tedder and I] cut two songs together already. And he’s amazing,” she said. “I love working with him because he understands what it’s like as a vocalist to want the song that day. He’ll literally let me take two takes of something and then he’ll have it done by the time I get out of the booth.”
