Remember Brooke Valentine?

2005 brought with it the singer’s sole hit ‘Girlfight’. Indeed, though parent album ‘Chain Letter’ featured a few gems, it garnered next to no traction. A fact which meant follow-up ‘Physical Education’ fared even worse – eventually being axed after a series of delays and the label folding.

Undeterred, the Houston, Texas native has charged on. And it appears her hustle has paid off. For, according to reports, Valentine has been cast on the soon to be launched ‘Love & Hip-Hop: LA’.

Details after the jump…

TMZ report that the 29-year old has begun filming for the latest instalment of the VH1 franchise alongside radio DJ Yesi Ortiz, rapper Hazel-E, and video vixen Bria Myles.

Interestingly, the aforementioned are said make up the list of “smaller” talent involved with the show, as producers remain on the hunt for more recognised names.

Sources suggest Ray J was very much in the running, however scheduling commitments with Bad Girls Club (which he hosts on Oxygen) meant he was unable to be cast.

For us, though, we’re keen to see how this once-promising-prospect is able (if at all) to take advantage of such a major platform.

All she needs to do is get on the show and BRAND herself , don’t do a bunch of girl fights but be entertaining.

She was overshadowed by Ciara when Girl Fight came out. LMAO! It feels so funny to say that because they’re both nobodies now. 🙂

Let’s not do too much ciara might not be on the same level she used to but she is far from a nobody, she has had certified records and a number 1 single with the last calender year. Still at major events etc so do not put her on brooke level. Let’s keep this topic about her.

I remember when every chic tried to be Ciara. Brooke, Tyra B, Tearria Marrie, Cassie, even Rihanna. And look who popped off and became an icon.
