Drama: Azealia Banks Slams Label / Begs For Sony To Sign Her

Published: Sunday 26th Jan 2014 by Sam

How to solve a problem like Azealia Banks?

The fiery femcee’s mouth has burned all but a few of the bridges needed to help her career, yet she seems adamant to destroy the rest. All ahead of the release of her serially delayed debut ‘Broke With Expensive Taste’.

As usual, today saw the rapper’s Twitter serve as the source of ample drama. This time directed towards her record label.

See what we mean below…

Read from bottom to top:

As political as the industry can be, Azealia needs to have an arena of seats.

The reality of her situation is that had she kept her mouth quiet and only unleashed on beats (instead of for free on Twitter), she would have created such a demand that the “suits” she complains about what have had no choice but to release her album.

As it is now, she has approximately no buzz and no love. A fact she only has herself to blame for. Oh well.

Your thoughts?

Lol, hahahahahahaha. The girl who talked s*** for years is now begging for help. Sony don’t want yo ass, you were only signed cause Nicki was hot. Now that she’s pretty much cold as of late, no one wants your female non rapping ass. She burned way too many bridges.

I was really hopeful for Ms.Banks once I heard ‘L8R’, it was so raw and just cocky enough to really elevate her to a platform I’m sure she could have handled.. but fast forward to today, I don’t know if she will ever be that “B..” she was destined to be. I hope something pops up for her though, bring another ‘L8R’/’212’ vibe and I’ll be down! 😀

  5. BeyIsKing January 26, 2014

Sony doesn’t want some ratchet loud mouth. Who spends most of her time creating drama and talking sh#t rather than focusing on her music

  6. Saltycracker January 26, 2014

I hope Universal drop her and her to forget her WiFi password so she cannot be able to be online/on twitter ever again. 😕

  8. AJ January 26, 2014

Wow, racist comment much Azealia? Those “white guys” gave you a record deal. What a racist b****.

She obviously wants to release music but her label is making her look bad by making her push the album back people don’t understand it’s not her…

  14. Stephy Tha Lambily January 26, 2014

I have NEVER herd of 1 song by her. Where is she from? Whats is her hit single? Is she on the radio?

    *Let Me Go Research Her*

UGh… Fire all old white men ASAP!!!

  15. Rosie January 26, 2014

LMAO she talke s*** about everyone (except my fave) and now gets mad when her label is trying to get her under control? A mess. XL doesn’t want her, RCA doesn’t want her, Columbia sure as hell won’t sign her, and I don’t even think flop ass Epic will at this point. It’s all her own fault.

  16. gio88 January 26, 2014

no one will sign her!!!! ahahaha

  17. Nate January 26, 2014

Nobody understands her ! She is so talented 🙁

  18. shauwndapooh January 26, 2014

That’s what her no edges a*** gets like your career ain’t nobody got time for you!

  19. EdensCrush January 26, 2014

Her biggest problem always has been, and likely always will be her BIG MOUTH.

She is always saying something she shouldn’t and mouthing off about dumb stuff.

She will be her own demise.

    *Hair-flip *Rolls up Partition

  20. FAF January 26, 2014

Does she REALLY think there’s ANY label thats not run by white men???????

  21. FAF January 26, 2014

  22. @camityre January 26, 2014

Honestly, she just needs her label to promote her music and let her release it. If they actually let her do something then maybe people would like her more because there would actually be music out for people to enjoy.

  23. Touché January 26, 2014

Bad,very bad move. Silence is Golden Azealia. She seriously needs to learn how to keep those type of comments to herself. This is how you literally ruin your career. Anyway, after these comments, I wouldn’t be surprised if her label drops her.

  24. Lovebird January 26, 2014

It’s called leverage Azealia; Universal has it, you don’t.

When you get your first Multi-platinum album then you can make demands. As of now, it is their risk, they therefore call the shots.

    It’s just business.

  25. Kyle January 26, 2014

She just keeps digging herself into a deeper and deeper hole. Her stank attitude is so unappealing. I understand her frustration but I feel like Universal probably will drop her ass because she’s clearly not profitable. The public lost interest in her quick and I’m sure that “group of old white guys” regret signing her.

  26. blah January 26, 2014

I was rooting for Azealia Banks until she went on that delusional diatribe about cultural appropriation on twitter and I realised she is not here for black girls in the way that I thought she was. Which makes a lot of her tracks now a bit redundant.

  27. Common Sense January 26, 2014

    I don’t know her…

  28. Del Bey January 26, 2014

It’s a shame to be honest, she had the makings of a rap legend, her style, flow and pure brass would of been appreciated in a way Kanye is appreciated, to bad she couldn’t keep her mouth from ruining everything

  29. Iconic Iggy January 26, 2014

Gotta love karma! All that sh!t she was talking a year ago and now she can’t even get a single off the ground or an estimated album release date. Sucks to suck

  30. Tisha January 26, 2014

Whats funny about this is I CALLED IT when in her last twiter rant she said her and her label were so good and in a happy place.

Dummy, with all your immaturity and beefs your label suckered you. They gave you a good story, got you comfortable and then shelved you. And yes Sam is right, you have no one to blame but yourself – that black girl craft is just angry girl craft, you might have the talent but you weren’t meant for this career because business and your music are the LAST things you focus on.

No label would take a chance on someone like you.

  31. Tisha January 26, 2014

When it suits her or is in her interest she’s quick to claim black but otherwise she seems to have a real self-hate thing going about black people.

    Mostly she’s a hypocrite.

  32. ATM JAM January 26, 2014

Ok but where is Iggy’s album?

  33. Molly January 26, 2014

This b**** is pathetic and is honestly going no were.

  34. Mike January 26, 2014

I’ve been hearing about this artist and her “DEBULT ALBUM” for two years, AT LEAST

All I know from her is one song, and in the meantime she’s just known for harassing other artists on Twitter and being a b…

Seriously, she, her label and her management need to get it together, she’s become a joke!

  35. FutureCIARA January 26, 2014

I had such high hopes for Azealia but she turned me off with all of her drama. I wish her well but I doubt I’ll be buying her album when (or if) it sees the light of day :/
