Video Teaser: Jennifer Lopez – ‘Same Girl’ (New Single)

Jennifer Lopez is back!

The dynamo diva is reportedly set to unwrap her new single ‘Same Girl’ and its accompanying video on the season premiere of American Idol this Thursday.

Now, given the EDM flavour of La Lopez’s recent efforts, one would be forgiven for presupposing the sound of ‘Same’. However, as the freshly unwrapped teaser below reveals, it’s a welcome change. See what we mean below…

Interesting.

We’d be lying if we said the snippet roused us in any way, however it is intriguing to see J.Lo re-embrace the ‘Jenny From The Block’ narrative. After all, it’s been more than ten years since she was peddling that motif.

In any case, it’ll be interesting to see how this plays out. It wouldn’t be surprising if this was to be deemed a warm-up buzz cut, making way for “the” single nearer a time when she’d be able to perform on Idol’s coveted live show stage.

    WOW! SHES BACK!

  2. JOHNVIDAL January 13, 2014

Her voice is so damn unappealing, generic and weak. Like this says nothing. The song could still be half good but obviously this don´t top the charts nowadays.
    She looks great though 🙂

  3. Immanuil January 13, 2014

    flawless***

  4. stephy tha lambily January 13, 2014

    Interesting.

  5. stephy tha lambily January 13, 2014

    Speak that truth John

  6. Number1k9 January 13, 2014

Ehhh. I’m a huge fan but I was not feeling the track from that snippet. Hopefully a grower when released in full. But if “Live It Up” couldn’t catch on a R&B track will have even more struggles.

  7. JER January 13, 2014

It’s still way too pop. I’d love to hear a stripped down version with just the basic track without all those auxiliaries

  8. Beyond Amazing (Cause Bey really is!) January 13, 2014

    Nah.

  9. Britney stan January 13, 2014

So theres this meme going around showing how much Beyonce has been copying from JLo.Lmao

  10. Lola January 13, 2014

Ewww no her voice is not captivating Ciara Lana Madonna may not have strong voices but the know how to own a song.

  11. Let’s Be Real January 13, 2014

This is very much “mary j blige-esque” the video and song tbh. J.lo just stick to the pitbull dance tracks if you want hits cuz chileee….

  12. nah January 13, 2014

For some reason this is giving me Erica Mena vibes. A love and hip hop low budget generic mess. She looks great though. But I aint feeling the song.

  13. FAF January 13, 2014

    @Britney I dragged that Hive f*** w/ the stats yesterday lmao 😆

  14. moech January 13, 2014

this is a hit !!!! mark my words Welcome back JLO #Urban

  15. BEYONCÉ January 13, 2014

S***** vocals. This song is gonna flop just like her last one.

  16. moech January 13, 2014

    f*** off . this is a hit !!! #DUMB

  17. BEYONCÉ January 13, 2014

A hit? Yeah, maybe in 2005.

  18. Olivia_pope January 13, 2014

Her vocals are awful. She sounds like an untalented demo singer. Everything about this is dated. No ones checking for her music anymore.

  19. JuanR January 13, 2014

    I like it!

But I’m sure this is gonna be labeled as a buzz, promo single.

  20. Toto January 13, 2014

She thinks she’s a thug. Lmao She’d get her ass wooped in 2 seconds.

  21. CzarM January 13, 2014

Some people are just never satisfied. When that “Live It Up” garbage came and went, everyone was harping on her to stop trying to recreate “On the Floor,” to leave the Pitbull dance tracks alone and go back to urban, so she does…now you’re still complaining, and have the audacity to say “go back to dance.” I’m not even a fan of JLo, but seriously shut up. I’d sooner listen to this than another gay ass RedOne/EDM catastrophe.

    But yeah, horrible voice.

  22. The Boy Toy January 13, 2014

She sounds really, really bad. She’s giving me Lumidee teas. The song doesn’t even sound mastered. Ewww.

  23. moe January 13, 2014

calm down haters . this will slay

  24. jlove January 13, 2014

yes jenny lo its stock in my head can’t get it out

  25. Vincent January 13, 2014

Haters… Haters… Haters, Jennifer Lopez will sale records no matter what you Beyonce followers think of her. If you opinion is negative, keep it to yourself. Need I remind you her Dance Again Tour sold out every arena? Best believe I was front row. Jennifer is amazing, she never claimed to be a great singer, shes true to who she is. And for anyone saying Ciara owns a song? Ciara is autotuned and lip syncs all of her shows, Jennifer doesnt. I like Ciara but she cant compete with Jen, Beyonce blows Jen out of the water vocally and I say that being Jens #1 fan, but Jen makes great music, point blank period

  26. ABC January 13, 2014

I think CB wrote this song and he should’ve saved it for someone else. J. lo’s vocals are so dry and uninspiring. The beat is good, but she doesn’t ride it well. Her early 2000’s urban efforts seemed much more…..organic? I don’t really see this doing much for her ailing music career. Sorry, not sorry…

  27. Grump January 13, 2014

Lol is she singing or rapping cause either way there’s no meaning in her voice. It’s like she’s saying the words to a beat. How do you go from Live It Up to this? I prefer her edm songs, at least I could bop to that in the clubs. This is just…what it is.

  28. FutureCIARA January 13, 2014

It comes off FAKE & PHONY!!!!

Who is she trying to convince that shes still Jenny From Da Block…..????

She’s Hollywood w**** trash now…. She should just keep slaying red carpets and leave the studio for good.

  29. FutureCIARA January 13, 2014

    This sounds Very GENERIC…

Like a rushed project, Or left overs from her previous un-releases…..

  30. Chic Soul January 13, 2014

Whatever! Ciara would’ve done this song more justice than J.Lo. The song itself isn’t bad but J.Lo’s vocals ruins it for me

  31. LOL January 13, 2014

LOL WHY IS SHE STILL MAKING RECORDS?

…AND SOME OF YOU NEED TO GO BACK TO SCHOOL & LEARN THE PROPER USAGE OF SALE & SELL LOL

  32. Strange4sumchange January 13, 2014

I live right up the block from where she shot this b******* and lemme be the first to tell you, AINT NO ONE OVER HERE CHECK FOR THIS HO! if u look close you will see she shot this on a Sunday morning at like 6 am.. If ni99as in the hood knew she was doin this fraudulent shyt a video would have never been made.. She gets NO RESPECT HERE!

  33. Da 1 January 13, 2014

I’m still Jenny from the Block. I see u J to the L O hello. Yall know this is a hit. And don’t tell me the Hive is hating. Wait until Janet put the hurting on a**.

  34. bowdowm27 January 13, 2014

I love it!!!j.lo is back and you haters will have to deal with it!
and to ciara fans please lets not talk about vocals when your b**** cant hit one note

  35. JENNIFER LOPEZ FT PITBULL January 13, 2014

this ma Gurl! Yas Jenni end those careers ugh giving me On the floor teas

  36. iStan4GoodMusic January 13, 2014

Jennifer’s voice is weak, but that doesn’t really matter these days. She’s JENNIFER LOPEZ! Rihanna can’t sing for s***, yet her obviously deaf fans think that she sings like Whitney Houston or Jennifer Hudson. I’m not saying that she doesn’t make good music, but that “Navy” of her is labeling her as something she’s not. Ciara on the other hand, can sing better than Rihanna. Numbers are nothing when it comes to true talent. Ciara has alot of talent and she showcases it well, yet people still under-rate her. That shows how salty & unfair the music business can be. I don’t like comparing one artist to another, but it’s irritating to see these fans bash the competition of their fave. Every post I see that DOES NOT involve Rihanna, her rather weak “Navy” are filling the comment sections with pure hate! She’s an artist, as is Beyonce, Ciara, Jennifer Lopez, Mariah, Lady Gaga etc… They all need support from their fans, & supporting your favorite artist doesn’t mean you have belittle the next one. Just Saying!

  37. ROSEGOLD January 13, 2014

J.Lo is so far removed from this ‘hood’ stuff LOL! Her vocals leave a lot to be desired and she just doesn’t fit. Like someone above me stated, she doesn’t ride the beat at all. Bye J.Lo we don’t believe you!

  38. Super Cisus January 13, 2014

B**** gtfoh!! Ci slays j ho vocally and can outdance her whack ass!!! American idol wont save this disaster of a song!!!! Live it up part 2

  39. jlove January 13, 2014

HATERS… HATERS… WOULD DIE TO BE IN YOUR SHOES JENNIFER …..
ATLEAST YOU MADE IT ON YOUR OWN ,,,,HOW MANY COULD DO THAT ON THEIR OWN

  40. Vincent January 13, 2014

This info doesnt lie people. Hate all you want.Love you Jennifer!!!
