Weigh In: Should Justin Bieber Be Deported? / Fans Fight Back

Published: Thursday 30th Jan 2014 by Rashad

2014 has certainly started off on an ugly foot for ‘Beauty and the Beat’ beau Justin Bieber. The year kicked off with news that his second documentary/concert film ‘Believe’ bombed at box offices in the U.S. and was followed with reports that friend Lil’ Za was arrested for cocaine possession in his [Bieber’s] home.

Next, the Canadian crooner saw his name on Miami P.D.’s radar after he was arrested for DUI and drag-racing. As if that’s not enough, news surfaced last night that the Grammy-nominated singer turned himself into Toronto authorities to face assault charges.

The flood of negative reports has pushed some over the edge as now it seems the ‘All That Matters’ maestro is finding out that all that matters to a select set of Americans is shipping him back to his home turf…

Setting the net ablaze just a day after President Obama’s ‘State of the Union’ address, over 110,000 angry Americans have petitioned to have the pop star deported back to Canada.  As the petition has passed the 100k mark, it warrants an official response from the Oval office.

The POTUS has yet to issue an official statement on the matter, but it should be understood that the White House has no time limit on when it has to respond and can opt to take years if it chooses.  Elsewhere, faithful Beliebers have started a petition of their own to keep the ‘Baby’ singer’s VISA unrevoked.  As of time reporting, the January 25th-created counter-petition has not reached 3,000 signatures.

Even stars like former tourmate Ariana Grande and LL Cool J have extended support for the troubled teen hitmaker:

“I’ve seen tweets of people making fun of the mug shot and all this stuff, and it’s so ignorant,” she said. “It’s gotten to a point where I just want him to be okay. It’s this very serious thing. And it’s not just like a kid who’s, you know, screwing around. It’s dangerous. It’s very serious and upsetting.

I don’t think it’s something to make fun of anymore. I don’t think it’s funny anymore… He’s a great person and a very talented boy and I want the best for him. He’s the most visible and yet isolated human being I’ve ever met.”

Ariana Grande

“You gotta cut the guy some slack, you know, he’s not like a 35-year-old with penny loafers and khakis on and you know, dropping his kids off at school and drag racing in a Lambo — that would be a little different! But I think we just gotta remember what we were doing at 19. Hopefully he’ll learn from his mistakes.”

    Deport her a*s…

  2. The Boy Toy January 30, 2014

I did stupid s*** at the age of 19. We all did….but I can never say I drag raced while under the influence. Whether he’s 19 or 99, DUI is dangerous and illegal and he should face that same consequences as anyone else. Ship his ass back!!! •signs petition•

  3. EMPRESS WHITNEY January 30, 2014

YES PLEASE. DEPORT HIM. He is not a citizen of this country and we are not obligated to keep him here…

Then again, he probably won’t be deported mainly because he happens to “boost” the US economy (after all, he is a “brand”) and Canada doesn’t want him back either. Besides, if you re-assess America’s crime regulations, his situation doesn’t fall into any of the categories worthy of deportation. Hence, I don’t think the US Customs & Border Protection Agency will remove him.

    WHAT A MOTHERF*CKING SHAME. 🙁

  4. S****** Blonde January 30, 2014

Yes, Please, please!….Canadians are usally great people, he’s a disgr. to such a beautiful country.

I’m sorry, but LL Cool J’s statement has got to be the most ignorant comment ever made. As a grown ass man with children of his own, the fact that he could minimize drunk driving in a sports car like it’s a right of passage, and almost a norm, for a 19-year old has got to be the dumbest thing ever uttered. What if Justin had got into an accident and killed someone while under the influence? Would he still be saying “Oh he’s just a 19-year old making mistakes”? I think not.

I think deporting him and revoking his visa is a bit much, but the fact of the matter is that Justin is just like any other foreigner working in the United States and there’s certain rules one has to adhere to. If you break those rules as a foreigner than you have to be prepared for the repercussions that come along with it. Just because you have more money than you know what to do with that doesn’t make you a god and it certainly doesn’t make you invincible.

  6. Blog or Not January 30, 2014

The entire TGJ staff should take a few writing courses. Each and every one of you. I understand this is “just a blog” and it should “be treated as such.” However, if you’re going to shoot for being an accredited site, at least prove that you’re not a bunch of 6th graders failing English.

And THIS is why the Art of Journalism has fallen?? TUH.

  7. Sip the tea January 30, 2014

Lmfao! I THOUGHT I WAS THE ONLY ONE. ESPECIALLY THAT WHOLE “the (insert song title) (insert noun)” bit they use every single time.

Anywho– people only want him gone because they are annoyed with him. YET AND STILL he must be held accountable for his actions. Drag racing under the influence?? FOH! If it was a random citizen of this country he or she would certainly be punished. “Behold America– where one must be held accountable UNLESS you’re a millionaire. Then it’s okay, I guess”

  8. Lovebird January 30, 2014

Boy Toy, look it up, those allegations are false.

    – It is proven that he did not drag race and was well under the speed limit
    – It is proven that he was not under influence and his alcohol level was well under the speed limit
    – No drugs have been found on him connected to the allegations.

They are false accusations. They are now trying to nab him on an assault charge.

  9. Lovebird January 30, 2014

Now if Americans are willing to give up Justin’s tax dollars, that is there choice. Having said that, the conglomerate behind the Bieber machine is making way too much money to let the Honeymoon be over.

    Justin is not going anywhere.

  10. Hivy January 30, 2014

  16. ROSEGOLD January 30, 2014

He’s not going to get deported, but he deserves to be punished to the fullest extent of the law.

  17. FAF January 30, 2014

It doesn’t make sense bc he’s a global celebrity sooooo he’s still gonna make music that we hear in the US and therefore have a presence here. Ppl need to stop making these flop ass petitions like its gonna change anything. its bigger stuff to be worried about. Lindsay Lohan red ass shoulda been deported to Ireland all the times that h** been in trouble

  18. FAF January 30, 2014

People just pinpoint JB because its easy he’s like a teeny bop icon so no adults care about him

  19. FAF January 30, 2014

My brother Chris Brown still has fans and has had success in R&B despite being in trouble countless times .. but sadly I think its not the end for JB he’s gonna get in more trouble & probably go to rehab by age 22

  20. Stephy Tha Lambily January 30, 2014

  22. SLAYAGE January 30, 2014

AMERICANS make me laugh. You have undercover political and economical criminals within the walls of your WHITE HOUSE still you worry about a teenager who happens to be going through the same s*** as any teenager.

  23. BAN THE BEIBS January 30, 2014

send his privileged, talentless ass back to Canadialand IMMEDIATELY!!!! And may he be devoured by polar bears upon reentry! Slayage- make sure your mom is waiting on the airport for Justin…

  24. grump January 30, 2014

Really TGJ? Are you all so daft? Justin Bieber is probably an American citizen now. For your information you can simply get a green card by investing up to a million dollars in the country which he has a la cars, houses and he can apply for citizenship after 5 years if he hasn’t already gotten one. So no he can’t even be deported.

  25. Tisha January 30, 2014

    Nah, let’s not deport him.

Let’s put him in the prisons we have no problems shoving our own citizens into without any special accommodation.

If he even makes it out of the group showers alive I bet his newly broken into ass will have no trouble behaving. #toughlove #don’tdropthatdundun

  26. AMERICANS ARE EXTRA January 30, 2014

YALL AMERICANS ARE SO DAMN EXTRA … DEPORT HIM BACK TO CANADA FOR WHAT ?? FOR ACTING LIKE A TEENAGED BOY .. TELL ME THIS, WHAT IS HE DOING THAT ALL THESE TEENAGERS OUT HERE ARE NOT ALSO DOING ?? .. YALL JUST LIKE TO DO THE MOST ! WHAT HE NEEDS IS HELP, NOT TO BE PUNISHED, FOOLISH PEOPLE.

  27. JENNY JONES!!! January 30, 2014

FOR WHAT???? HE HASN’T KILLED ANYONE OR GOT CAUGHT BRINGING IN MAJOR WEIGHT TO SALE. AND IT’S ALREADY BEEN PROVEN THAT THE MIAMI PD LIED ABOUT HIS ALCOHOL LEVEL. I GUARANTEE ALL OF THE PEOPLE THAT WORK FOR HIM EVEN IN SMALL POSITIONS AND ALL THE BUSINESSES THAT HAVE BEEN MAKING A GRIP OFF OF HIM IN THIS BAD ECONOMY WOULD BEG TO DIFFER ABOUT DEPORTING HIM. HIS $$$ IS BEING SPREAD IN TOO MANY PLACES HERE IN THE U.S. FOR HIM TO BE DEPORTED. WE HAVE PEOPLE W/O JOBS AND FOOD THAT THE POTUS NEEDS TO BE CONCERNED ABOUT NOT JB. SMH!!!!…………….JENNY JONES!!!

  28. FutureCIARA January 30, 2014

    DEPORT THAT ASS!!!!!

  29. FutureCIARA January 30, 2014

    @LOVEBIRD

NO DOUBT HE PAID OFF A NUMBER OF PEOPLE SO THAT THEY CAN SILENCE CERTAIN AUTHORITIES AND LESSEN THE ACCUSATIONS.

HES A CELEB AND WITH THAT COMES PERKS AND ACCESS.

I TRULY BELIEVE HIS FATHER HAD HIM OUT THERE ACTING AN ASS, THE FATHER IS BEING A LEECH, BUT JUSTIN NEEDS TO LEARN RESPONSIBILITY AND CONSEQUENCES FOR HIS ACTIONS. HE IS NOT A CHILD ANYMORE!!!!
