As fans of Mariah Carey watch her new single ‘You’re Mine’ fall from Top 200, supporters of Miley Cyrus, Beyonce and ‘American Idol‘s  Candice Glover can boast of better news when it comes to the ladies’ latest releases today.

Want to be in ‘chart’ know?

A fresh ‘Chart Check’ below!

Upon its arrival on the chart today, Candice Glover‘s debut album ‘Music Speaks‘ now finds a friend in #9, the iTunes tally chart position it now holds thanks to the same music lovers responsible for her ‘American Idol’ season 12 win.

Meanwhile, Miley Cyrus‘Bangerz’ now enjoys US sales of 806,000 units sold, and returns to the Top Twenty after the unveiling of its supporting tour, kicking off at Vancouver’s Roger’s Arena on February 14th 2014.

As it stands, the album now holds the #12 spot as Beyonce‘s self-titled fifth album resides at #7, after skating past global sales of 2.5 million units and birthing the Billboard Hot 100 smash-hit ‘Drunk in Love.’

Wait a minute, people are still interested in that Miley chick?

And not BangerZ not hitting platinum when it has been out since forever.

Basic Perry is at 2 million+ WW sales, where is BangerZ?

  2. Lovebird February 18, 2014

And not Drunk ho in love not hitting #1 after 385939583949585 remixes; I cannot.

  3. fatusankoh February 18, 2014

good for bey the album is good more success

  4. Sasha February 18, 2014

Bangerz is selling because it’s discounted to 6.99 on iTunes

  5. NT February 18, 2014

Congrats to all of them , and i’m really surprised that Miley’s still selling discounted or not.

  6. CIARASTAN February 18, 2014

Because your making ignorant remarks LOVEBIRD bangers has been out since October everyone doesn’t go platinum week one, in fact that’s mostly propaganda …and katy perry had a deal with Pepsi when they buy half her singles and albums and gave them away for free through contest. Miley is doing fine GaGa’s album hasn’t even went gold now that’s a issue

  7. CIARASTAN February 18, 2014

Y’all wanna find a excuse to hate on Miley so bad”!!!! Bangerz has been out for months accumulating physical and digital sales and was not always on discount, this just happened stop trying to take her credit away from her and give Miley her coins….y’all are some low life non goal having haters

  8. h2o February 18, 2014

“And not Drunk ho in love not hitting #1 after 385939583949585 remixes; I cannot.”

How are a butch of remixes thrown on YouTube and SoundCloud in the past couple of days supposed to take the song currently at #8 right up #1 on a chart that doesn’t update until tomorrow?

Your stupidity is too much to take

  9. truth February 18, 2014

i bet if Maraiah was on top, sam would be on top of her tits. Flip Flopping ass bottom

  10. h2o February 18, 2014

“after skating past global sales of 2.5 million units”

I swear Samantha is getting on my nerves with these figures from 6 weeks ago

  11. Anne February 18, 2014

I thought Beyonce was over? I thought Drunk in Love had peaked at 17? I thought she couldn’t land another top ten on Hot 100? I thought the album would quickly decline? Beyonce continues to prove the haters wrong as her album cant seem to find its way out of the top ten!

  12. cake like lady gaga February 18, 2014

MESS at Sam neglecting to mention that Drunk Prostitute is free falling off the charts like a brick and it didn’t even reach #1.. Can’t wait for the H-I-V meltdowns

  13. Davis February 18, 2014

    BEYONCE WINNING AS USUAL.

  14. The Boy Toy February 18, 2014

Candice Glover will be dropped. Where’s her promo? Does she have a single? American Idol is such a WASTE!!!

  15. The Boy Toy February 18, 2014

I heard Miley’s tour is pretty good, but I don’t think it’s doing that well saleswise. “Adore You” messed her up. She should’ve released another single. I think the GP is pretty much over her tongue and twerking though……

  16. BeyIsKing (Mrs. Carter Show 2014 – 2 Days Left) February 18, 2014

The fact that you think the Hive cares about singles charts shows how delusional you are. The fact that Bey released her full album without any singles, announcement or promo should tell that she doesn’t care about topping the Hot 100. That is for the kids y’all stan, the Hive stans for a grown @ss woman.

  17. Kendall February 18, 2014

Beyonce 2.7 mill after 7 weeks. And she had an unexpected urban Smash as a bonus.

  18. truth February 18, 2014

In the last two years, Mariah Carey has cycled through three managers, two album release dates and four new tracks-will her fifth be the charm? On Feb. 12, Carey unveiled the latest single from her long-delayed new album. The finger-snapping ballad “You’re Mine (Eternal)” is her fifth new song since 2009’s Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel, none of which has risen higher than No. 15 on the Billboard Hot 100. With Carey’s 14th album now slated for May 6, a lot is riding on the fate of “You’re Mine” for both Carey and her label, Island Def Jam.

How’s it doing? The track garnered a modest 245 all-format plays in its first day at radio, according to Nielsen BDS, though the IDJ strategy is to let it develop organically before a radio push begins Feb. 24. And sources at radio say the straight-ahead ballad may be the kind of return to form Carey needs. The hope is that after almost four years of work, Carey’s next record is back on track.

Songwriter/producer Bryan-Michael C** says that work on the project began before the summer of 2010. “We started on this before Mariah got pregnant,” he says. But her difficult pregnancy and the birth of her twins in April 2011 delayed work, as did her season as a judge on “American Idol” last year, and, finally, a shoulder injury while filming the video for her single with Miguel, “#Beautiful,” last July. “Life happens, and that added to the organic process of making this album,” C** says. “Over the past couple of years we’ve added songs, scratched songs, slow-baking this record like a honey-baked ham. And when you take a bite of that ham-people will be extremely and pleasantly surprised.”

IDJ certainly hopes so. The label’s 2013 market share of albums plus track-equivalent albums was 4.0%, according to Nielsen SoundScan, ranking it eighth among the major mainstream labels, or second-to-last ahead of Epic. Carey’s album was originally slated for release last March, then July. With IDJ’s top performing albums in 2013 coming from Kanye West (625,000 units), Fall Out Boy (598,000) and Rihanna (592,000), another release from an artist of Carey’s caliber would have boosted the label’s bottom line.

In an interview with Billboard last year, Carey hinted the album would feature a “lot more raw ballads than people might expect.” And in reuniting with producers Jermaine Dupri (who succeeded Randy Jackson and then Red Light as her manager last October) and C**-as well as collaborating with Hit-Boy, The-Dream, Rodney Jerkins and Mike Will Made It-she said it was about “making sure I have tons of good music.”

C** describes the album as a “mashup of what’s new, a melange of R&B, hip-hop and pop plus the classic melodies and lyrics we know her for.” A major-market R&B/hip-hop programmer says Carey and IDJ will enjoy a “solid measure of success” if the singer returns to her roots: great midtempos and ballads. “‘Sonically, her last album wasn’t bad,” the programmer says. “But it depended too much on samples and guest appearances. There’s no sample on this new single, but again the buy-in factor to a younger, hipper audience is that she’s paired on a remix with Trey Songz to help co-sign how relative she is to new consumers who may not be aware of her previous track record of success. I’m not sure if they’re going to opt in.”

Revving up for her return, Carey and MTV teamed for the global video premiere of “You’re Mine” on Feb. 12. A day later, she was scheduled to flip the switch to light New York’s Empire State Building in red and pink for Valentine’s Day, then appeared on BET’s “106 & Park” for the network premiere of the remix video with Songz. Carey will also perform the new single on “BET Honors,” airing Feb. 24

  19. Kendall February 18, 2014

Bangerz still not platinum after all the gimmicks?

  20. BeyIsKing (Mrs. Carter Show 2014 – 2 Days Left) February 18, 2014

Almost 3 million units sold and her album has only been out a little over 2 months. Like really tho who does that?

Well congrats to these ladies. Miley looks cute in that picture. I’m glad to hear I’m not the only one that got Candice album. I’m sick of this techno phase my generation is in. Love hearing real R&B with a true soul singing it from her heart and soul. She has a Jazmine Sullivan/Ledisi feel to her. She deserved to win that season of American Idol. And why is everyone talking about flops and singles that didn’t go number 1, when EVERY ARTIST suffers from that. I don’t understand you all beef with each other, but I digress.

“MESS at Sam neglecting to mention that Drunk Prostitute is free falling off the charts like a brick and it didn’t even reach #1.. Can’t wait for the H-I-V meltdowns”

How is it falling when it’s been at #11 for 6 days with increasing radio updates?

It may not have reached #1 but still outpeaked every song from “RATPOOP”.

Now, you wanna talk about “RATPOOP” performance or even worldwide sales? Even after crazy discounts, crazy promo and $25M spent on promo and marketing?

You wanna talk about “RAT-RAVE: RATPOOP Is Sucking Balls” turning Daddy GayGay into a lesser touring act to someone as basic as Kety?

    I need answers!!!

    LEAD THE WAY
Written by Mariah Carey and Walter Afanasieff
Produced by Mariah Carey and Walter Afanasieff

    Who would’ve believed
That you and me would fall
    And land together
    And who could’ve foreseen
In you I’d find the place
    I’ve belonged forever

    And if I move closer
    Then love will take over
    And lead the way

    I’d given up hope
    Losing the faith that love
    Could be mine to treasure
    And now
    Nothing’s the same
    I found myself reborn
On the day I met you
    And if we move closer
    Then love will take over
    And lead the way

    Suddenly you are lying
Here with me and the truths
I used to hold have changed
    And if I move closer
    And let it take over
Then love will lead the way
    And let it take over
Then love will lead the way

    MARIAH’S MUSIC
Kelly Clarkson: “Mariah is an excellent writer and singer. I believe she doesn’t receive the credit she deserves.” (The Straits Times)

Mary J. Blige: I love Mariah Carey. Mariah Carey’s music saved little ghetto children’s lives. Songs like “Visions of Love” gave us hope and we would sing those songs and try to hit every note like Mariah — which we can’t. I don’t think she knows what a big part she plays in Mary J. Blige’s life. And then to meet her… she’s such a beautiful person that you can’t do anything but defend her when [the media] starts acting stupid on her. She doesn’t deserve that. (Barnes and Noble interview)

Mary J. also said in her acceptance speech at the 2005 Vibe Awards where Mariah was in the audience, “Mariah I love you, and I’m so happy for you. (Talking about Mariah’s success with “The Emancipation of Mimi”)

Busta Rhymes: “One of the best singers in the game, hands down…” (Blender)

Aretha Franklin: “[Erykah] Badu is a very good vocalist. I like her wit. She’s kind of a cross between Diana Ross and Billie Holiday. Mariah Carey has done some things I like. Her vocals and production have a very tight quality.” (Time)

Walter Afanasieff: “She actually knows every song ever written. She’s a walking encyclopedia of songs, from every Stevie Wonder song all the way to every Police record ever made. She carries around this ‘hard disk’ full of songs. And there’s nothing she can’t sing.” (Fred Bronson’s The Billboard Book of Number 1 Hits)

Whitney Houston: When asked if she remembered first hearing Mariah’s music, Whitney replied by singing a line from “Vision of Love” and said, “Yep, I remember it. It was like, kinda, my tone, not quite me. Who is she?” (MTV interview with John Norris)

David Foster: “Working with Mariah was an extraordinary opportunity for me. It goes without saying that she’s one of the world’s greatest singers, but it was her musicianship that stunned me. She thinks like a record producer and lays her vocals down like a virtouso guitarist. Singer, Songwriter, Producer Mariah is a triple treat. Working with her was a wonderful experience from beginning to end.”

Ben Folds: “She’s got the most amazing voice. Although the production on her new album, “The Emancipation of Mimi,” may turn some off, I find the sheer talent involved reason enough to listen. I love classic soul ballads like “Mine Again” and “Fly Like a Bird.” I also like that she’s using her voice on this album more like a male singer might, like Prince. She could show off and belt, but she’s evolving and doesn’t seem to need to prove herself every bar, so you get the interpretation of an amazing singer.” (The New York Times)

Patti LaBelle: Has often complimented Mariah (“She has a great voice. I don’t know, I love her talent!”) and has even called her, her god-daughter. She introduced her at the 1999 Billboard Awards and has duetted with Mariah. She also gave a standing ovation to her when Mariah performed a medley of “If Only You Knew/Somewhere Over The Rainbow” “Mariah has an amazing gift from God that has no color, no boundaries and no limitations. You hear the passion and honesty within her music.”

Jessica Simpson: “Oh, my Gosh! Can you imagine they’re comparing me to her…I mean she’s the biggest selling artist of the decade, and I admire her too.”

“I’m a huge fan of Mariah Carey. I admired her music for so long. It’s hard to follow on her footstep. She’s so successful. Mariah’s Mariah. To be compared to her is a huge compliment.”

Jessica said that “My All” was her favorite song of 1998, and also said that she used to warm up by singing “Hero.”

Nelly: “Mariah Carey, she’s possibly the best singer I’ve heard. And you watch someone such as Mariah, who went from the highest of the high to the lowest of the low, and come back like she never missed a beat, and stand up and smack everybody in the face like, ‘I’m still here; matter of fact I’m better” that gives you inspiration. That keeps me going.”

P!nk: “I love her style, I love especially her covers and samples. I think ‘Glitter’ is great. It´s a shame that the press never understood how honest this movie is.”

Toni Braxton: “I really admire Mariah Carey. I think she’s a underrated, because she’s a great producer, a wonderful writer, and no one gives her props for that. They always say ‘Oh look, did you see what she had on?’ And this and that. I’m like she’s 30 years old, she’s not 70 with breast hanging like chickens. She’s young, she’s beautiful, she has a great body. I just think she’s wonderful, and I think people beat her up a lil’ too much.

Especially Mariah’s ‘One Sweet Day’ – the one she did with Boyz II Men. Oh my God, that really helped me through a rough time.”

Probably Ella Fitzgerald, that’s past, but if you’re talking currently, I really like Mariah Carey. She’s wonderful, she’s a writer, and a producer, and I don’t think people give her credit as she should.

“I like the things that Irv Gotti is doing with hip-hop tracks and R&B with Ashanti. To be honest, Mariah Carey really pioneered that. All people wanted to talk about was her shorty-short shorts, but forget the chances she took. “Mariah with ODB…what was she thinking?” When I heard it, I said, “I get it, Mariah. Hands up, girl!” (Network Magazine, Nov. 2002)

Joe Elliott, lead singer – Def Leppard: “Mariah Carey has also covered it…and about bloody time! It took 21 years for someone to do a proper cover of one of our songs. Apparently she was listening to Vault when she decided to get back in the studio and add it to her own already finished album. Because ‘Bringin’ On The Heartbreak’ is the final track it suggests she listened right through to the end. That makes it hard not to say, ‘God bless ya, girl.'” (In the liner notes of “Rock of Ages” album)

“I think she’s done a very good job [with “Bringin’ On The Heartbreak”]. It’s faithful to the arrangement, but not done like a rock song. Some astonishing vocal gymnastics toward the end that make Minnie Riperton sound like Tom Waits.” (Las Vegas Sun)

Phil Collen, guitarist – Def Leppard: Praised Mariah’s cover of “Bringin’ On The Heartbreak” as a “genuine version of our song” and defended it from Def Leppard’s more critical fans: “The fans really get it wrong sometimes. She’s on our side and it’s an honour she’s done it. Really, that’s the only way we’re getting played. One of the best singers in the game, hands down…” (Rolling Stone)

“She’s an icon. She’s one of the most influential singers of the last decade. I mean, someone like Christina Aguilera is trying to imitate what Mariah did.” (Calgary Herald)

John Mayer: “There’s something about Mariah Carey. She’s super hot and people don’t realize how much influence she’s had.” (Blender)

Cameron Diaz: Diaz has reportedly said that her idea of torture is to be locked in a room and made to listen to Mariah Carey records.

Rhett Lawrence, Producer: “I literally got goosebumps on my arms when I heard her sing. I couldn’t believe the power and maturity of her voice. It was obvious that she was great – she was amazing.”

Shawn Stockman, Boyz II Men: “Of course. Mariah is talented, and you can’t denounce her talent. Yeah, she’s gone through a couple of personal things, but that didn’t change the quality and the texture of her voice. It was only a matter of time before she would rise again and be on top.”

Thalia: “She has a voice that started a new era in music in the 90s. I used to listen to her songs. She’s accomplished so much in her career with her numerous number one songs.”

Mark Feehilly, Westlife:”You know the way you see people’s names on the credits, and it’s like, I wonder if she actually really did that or are they just getting their name on there [because they’re] such a big artist?” vocalist Mark Feehilly asks. “I always wondered that about Mariah Carey, and I was so happy to find out that she actually sat there at the desk, pushing up and down the buttons. She actually does produce her own songs and she writes her own songs, too. So, as a big fan, it made me respect her even more.” (Rolling Stone, July 2000)

    Can’t Let Go

    Endless Love

    Loverboy

    Shake It Off
    1. CAN’T LET GO
Mariah Carey had surpassed a record held by The Jackson 5 by having her first five singles all reach #1, and she hoped to extend that streak to six with the second release from her album, Emotions . But she soon discovered that all good things had to come to an end.

As on Carey’s previous hits, she chose to share songwriting duties with another writer, Walter Afanasieff, on “Can’t Let Go.” In the book Mariah Carey: The Unauthorized Biography, she explained why she preferred to share the writing process: “I always do the melody first. Sometimes I’ll have an idea for a lyric. If I’m collaborating with someone, I’ll direct them in the direction I’m going chordwise, because I get all these melody ideas and then I lose them if I don’t have someone really good on keyboards right there with me. That’s why I tend to collaborate because I lose the ideas by the time I figure out the chords.”

Afanasieff had previously produced Mariah’s hit “Love Takes Time” and was a natural choice to assist her with the new ballad. She told Billboard magazine, “One of the best things about writing with Walter is that he is such a knowledgeable musician. When I frantically hum out chords to him, he knows how to translate what I am hearing in my mind so accurately. With a lot of other people, it is not quite as easy. Our differences really compliment each other.”

Following the chart-topping success of “Vision Of Love,” “Love Takes Time,” “Someday,” “I Don’t Wanna Cry,” and “Emotions,” “Can’t Let Go” seemed to have a good chance of extending Mariah’s streak of #1 hits to six. The song entered the charts at #42 and three weeks later reached the top 10. Unfortunately she couldn’t get Color Me Badd to let go of the #1 spot and ended up with the first non-chart-topper of her career. The song also hit the runner-up spot on the R&B charts, but it did much better on the Adult Contemporary charts, where it became her fourth #1 hit.

Mariah’s next release, “Make It Happen,” fared even worse, reaching only #5. Even though those hits failed to reach the top of the charts, Carey reserved a special place for them. As she revealed in the liner notes of her #1 hits album, “One day, I will put out a greatest hits with songs…that came out that didn’t go to #1 that are, in my opinion, better than some that did (i.e. ‘Make It Happen,’ ‘Anytime You Need A Friend,’ ‘Endless Love’ with Luther, or ‘Can’t Let Go’). Still, “Can’t Let Go” kept Mariah Carey’s streak of top 10 hits alive at six. Her streak extended to 11 before finally being broken by the #12 single “Anytime You Need A Friend.” It took another #2 single to start the streak anew.

@Stephy there isn’t anything wrong with not agreeing with your fave i mean there are songs that i dislike from my faves and i understand your anger towards mariah cause you want her to showcase her vocals and talent instead of these gimmicks… so I completely understand… I personally would love to see alot of my faves take a big risk with theirselves musically but all I can do is pray for the best… so don’t pay attention to these youngins who probably will buy and like anything that their faves put out… it can be the worst song in the world but just cause it is by their fave they will buy… I’m sorry I not buying anything and everything…. if it is not agreeing to my ears….. @Truth #noshade at all I understand you are a die-hard mariah stan and everything but why mention her when she wasn’t even mention in the article nor by any of the commenters on here…. you can’t get mad and in your feelings toward @boytoy cause he doesn’t want to see you long page comment about mariah’s success we all know what she has done in the game and no one is taking away from it… but the long essay isn’t necessary at all….. just speaking the truth

  95. Theman February 18, 2014

Beyonce musically is not legendary.. MC is gem, it has nothing to do with peaking. Sam is a flip flopping a** bum.. You’re so f****** delusional.

First you wanna drag my bank account when the three Beyonce songs you were “laughing at” generated more money in the week they “dropped down thr chart” alone than you’ll even make in your entire life …

Then you wanna say the Hive – by just defending their fav on her very own post – are causing troubles, while you’re the one using off-topic MooRIP stats from 1902 for flamebait …

    Just stop already ..

  100. truth February 18, 2014

    TRY AGAIN @KYLE
I can handle facts. IN fact, I can handle that Mariah new music is flopping, but what I can not handle is people trying to discredit her to make their fave seem superior. so, if that means I can not handle facts, then GUILTY AS F****** CHARGED. Kyle you can not come for me, seriously you are not built for it.

  101. ROSEGOLD February 18, 2014

Anyway I feel bad for Candice Glover. She has such an amazing voice, but American Idol doesn’t know what to do with her. Or is it everyone who can sing shouldn’t have a record deal? Hmmmm but best of luck to her….

  108. Kyle February 18, 2014

    Waiting for an answer…

  109. BEYHIVE_MINAJ February 18, 2014

@Truth clearly you’re a newcomer to TGJ. I’ll explain to you slowly. Nobody drags Mariah until her stans become messy. Why are they messy? BECAUSE THEY’RE INSECURE. There is a difference between defending and being insecure. Slayriah keeps starting s*** on every post talking about Mariah’s achievements to discredit Beyonce even when NOBODY,not even Sam has brought either of them up. Are you gonna call that being defensive?

  110. truth February 18, 2014

me telling you to drown in your h20 is me telling you to drown in water. HOW IS THAT ME NOT KNOWING THE CHEMICAL FORMULA FOR WATER (WHICH IS H20)
so, yes, why are you even trying? #dumb ass
    @H20

  111. Music Stan ( I came I conquer and I draged) ( yall know who I stan 4) February 18, 2014

@beyfan and @rosegold I think American Idol doesn’t know how to market R&B artist cause the type of genre of music they chose to sing…. Fantasia is the only one who had success after idol… but then she had a slighty downfall but manage to get back up again…. I think if they were more show that market more R&B artist then it would work…. I mean just the song choices that they have to sing every week aren’t even modern day R&B…. alot of it is old skool from the motown era and crossover hits…. hopefully she will get some attention in the R&B world like Fanny, and Rueben…. And also I can see why they don’t know how to make it her cause real R&B is dying slowly… mostly the female artists like Ciara, Beyonce, Kelly, Seyvn, and etc are trying to save it while Male R&B artists like Trey, Chris, and Usher are hopping into what is hot at the time…. It is sad that Robin Thicke is consider more R&B than them….

  112. truth February 18, 2014

    OMGGG HEELLLPPPP!!!!!!!!

  117. BEYHIVE_MINAJ February 18, 2014

  118. truth February 18, 2014

@beyhive_minaj take your own advise. there is nothing slow about me (fool). you just can not handle someone who knows how to stand their ground. so, you make it easier to digest, by saying “random” words that “try” & fail to dismiss an individual. I ENCOURAGE YOU TO TRY AGAIN, BECAUSE GIVING UP SHOULD NEVER BE AN OPTION.

  119. truth February 18, 2014

AGAIN,we only call her that when the lambchops step out of line. And stop acting as if we’re the only ones who call her that. Every fanbase has dragged her for the gods.

LMAO.. Truth is not HAVING IT! YASS #OneManARMY. Seems the BullyHive have met their match lmao. Too bad no other lamb is supporting.

Beyonce will have a #1 this week, I’m betting. Miley Wrecking Ball went back to #1 because of a parody that got millions of view that week. Those remix will count.

@beyhiveminaj again just because you say it does not mean it facts. I am not insecure at all. I am tired of sam and the hive being bullies. You all talk so much trash (first) and when someone else attacks back, you all cry victim or say we are insecure (like the lil b****** you are). I have seen many comments on this blog where the HIve talks s*** about any one and then want to use the insecure card the minute someone claps back. f*** outta here wit that s***. if you can dish it you should take it… you know? like d***

It kills me the way people are so bothered about the Hive on this site. Just move tf along. NO ONE mentioned Mariah so why is this b**** having a breakdown over it? And anyone sane and unbiased who visits this site often can see the way a certain lamb in particular is always messing with the Hive for no reason thats the main reason some members of the Hive come for Mariah on this site. Truth be told, the Hive aint bothered about Mariah really.
