Though recent years have seen her struggle to maintain her ‘album-selling’ status, Jennifer Lopez has found herself becoming quite the singles/touring force…put many of her fellow-40 somethings to shame.
Now, as to extend her ‘product life cycle’, the Pop ‘Idol’ has joined forces with NBC to star and produce in an original TV series, set to see her dominate television in ‘criminal’ fashion.
Details below…
Billed ‘Shades of Blue’, the NBC series will follow the story of Harlee McCord (Lopez), a single mother enlisted to work undercover for the FBI’s anti-corruption division, battling the evil that is crime while taking on the challenge that is motherhood.
Co-produced by Lopez and Ryan Seacrest and written by Adi Hasak, and will hit screens in 2015- giving the parties above ample time to find the experienced TV writer/producer they’re currently on the hunt for.
On the show, NBC’s Entertainment President Jennifer Salke explained:
“Whether its producing, acting, singing or any of her other many entrepreneurial activities, Jennifer is an extraordinary talent and life force, and we’re delighted to be in business with her and Adi Hasak on this sophisticated show. We’re especially excited that Jennifer is returning to her acting roots from such great movies as Out of Sight, and we know that she will create this complicated character in a vivid way that will breathe new life into the cop show genre. Ryan Seacrest is part of the NBCU family and doing his first scripted drama series with us makes perfect sense.”
With ventures like this in the pipeline, is it any wonder that Lopez stays head and shoulders above even her more ‘talented’ of contemporaries.
For, while digits moved in the past have turned some of her rivals into ‘Complacent Cathy‘s, Lopez’ undying hustle has seen her birth killer era after killer era, turning lemons grown during her debut into the lemonade that keeps her general public thirsty for more!
