What do you think R&B will sell if JT’s 20/20, the biggest album of 2013 only sold 2.4 million. That’s not epic sales, that’s average if you just look back 10 years ago. Everyone is flopping, unless you’re Adele and Swift.
I stand by what I said, these R&B artist don’t bring anything new to the table. They all work with the same producers and writers, so why would the GP give two f**** about them?
Pop always sold more cause for one, it’s cheep. But you’re looking at the top of the list, look at the BB top 40 and tell me how many of those artist that is always in the top 10, but sale just as bad as these R&B artist. Ke$ha, Pitbull, FloRider, J.lo, they’re not selling anymore that Ciara and Kelly.
Another example is Kanye and J. Cole, they’re albums came out the same day as Kelly. YEs they had big first week numbers, but those sales stopped at 600K while Kelly is at 215K, but my point is that the rappers seem like they sold a lot, but they didn’t.
