Kandi Burruss’ ‘Xscape’ is honoured by Urban Pop newbies Havok Jones today, seeing their take on ‘The Jones Girls‘ 1979 classic ‘Who Can I Run To’ covered by the fashion forward quartet.
With vocals produced by Leon Giles, the ladies go a long way to stake their claim as one of their genre’s more promising groups, flaunting well-produced runs and airtight harmonies far too absent in today’s playing field.
Why we hope to see the ladies picked up by a major by the year’s end?
Killer vocals on a timeless song, below…
I’m The Biggest Xscape Fan, They Are My Fav Girl Group

doesn’t even compare to Xscape. Xscape murdered that ish………them b****** sound weak
I’M SORRY BUT I COULDN’T EVEN GET PAST THE FIRST FEW SECONDS. THE INTRO WAS TOO HARD AND LOUD. NEITHER OF THE FIRST TWO VERSIONS SOUNDED THAT WAY. SOMETIMES A RE-MAKE NEEDS TO STICK TO THE SIGNATURE SOUND WITH SOME THINGS. THEN WHEN THE FIRST GIRL STARTED SINGING IT JUST LACKED THE SOUL AND EXPERIENCE FOR ME. THIS IS A SOFT AND ANGELIC SONG, NOT A SING OFF. AND SOMEONE PLEASE CHANGE THEIR NAME. THE POP GROUPS HAVE THE CORNY AND GENERIC NAMES AND THE URBAN GROUPS ALWAYS HAVE THE MOST HOOD NAMES THEY CAN FIND.
Xscape did it better plus they are sing to hard they need to tone it down especially for a song like this but they have potential with the right training
Cote will hear arguments at an August 9 hearing in her Manhattan courtroom. A damages trial might follow.
