As to honour the audience she hopes will support her new LP ‘AKA‘, Jennifer Lopez made her way back home to the Bronx to deliver a free concert to fans in the NYC borough.

There, during her hit-kissed set, she paid tribute to Selena Quintanilla-Pérez, the performer she portrayed in the 1997 movie based on her rise to superstardom and tragic death at the hands of best friend Yolanda Saldívar.

Her spanish is still ‘so so’, but she did a great job, Selena’s spanish wasn’t good neither.

I am happy she gave a tribute to the woman she wanted to be. But for me Jennifer’s voice does nothing for me I don’t feel any passion or fire in voice when she sings but she is a very beautiful woman who has come a long way from her humble beginnings.

Jennifer owes her career to Selena! Shakira too! She paved the way for them and the Latin community if you really think about it because she made Spanglish mainstream. -sighs- I can’t help but wonder how successful she would’ve been had she still been around. I do miss her, 2pac, B.I.G. Aaliyah, Left Eye, Teena Marie …. So much talent gone 🙁
