Minutes after actress Zendaya Coleman announced that she was play late singer Aaliyah in the forthcoming ‘Lifetime’ biopic based on her life, British rapper Monie Love has slammed the project, taking aim at the “unethical” motives behind its conception.

Set to be led by the singer’s uncle Barry Hankerson, the movie will see Aaliyah‘s story told through the eyes of the ‘Blackground Records’ executive, oft slammed for the part he allegedly played in the singer’s illegal union with singer R.Kelly and the underhanded tactics he reportedly used to keep ‘Andre’ singer JoJo at the ailing label.
