Salt N Pepa Tribute Beyonce Live In NYC

Published: Saturday 7th Jun 2014 by David

2008 BET Hip-Hop Awards - Show

The good people of New York were treated to quite the spectacle last night, when Hip Hop icons Salt N Pepa rocked the city with their latest live outing.

It was there, much to the delight of their audience, did the ladies perform their Hurby Azor-produced ‘Push It’ and Beyonce‘s 2011 release ‘Run the World (Girls).’

Were they any good?

You tell us…below!

The ladies’ honouring of ‘Yonce’s ‘Girls’ comes 13 years after she honoured them on the Destiny’s Child cut ‘Nasty Girl‘, pulling from ‘Push It‘s production to pen the lyrics that start at the 1.40 mark below…

Not y’all calling one song(one that flopped) a tribute?!?! BYE!

      • shadyperry June 7, 2014

so because two legends decided to use Beyonce WRTW as background music this signifies cultural impact? LMAO THE DELUSIONS. Stanning is a mental illness. Outside of her slow fan base and a few lost casual listeners who mindlessly believe that someone who cant even construct a coherent sentence knows anything about feminism, NO CULTURE was impacted by this. Even so, a few remixes does not constitute CULTURAL IMPACT. What has spawned because of WRTW besides this. Please?? She did a tribute to them. They returned the favor for 2 seconds. Nothing more. Stop it reaching with t-rex arms

  3. sleazy June 7, 2014

    a tribute tho? nah

  4. Hadley June 7, 2014

Funny that even Beyonces songs that don’t perform highly on the charts still have more impact on pop culture some peoples ones who go to #1. The lyrics from Run The World are some of the most recognizable in todays pop culture. And one of the most stand out girl power songs ever. I always see it being quoted.

    • GILBERTO June 7, 2014

That’s what I’ve been telling to the s**** here. #1 hit is just a number if it doesn’t have cultural impact. They are too dumb to understand this ’cause they stan for charts, not for artits.

    • Naomi June 7, 2014

      Rihanna shade lol.

      • Hadley June 7, 2014

No actually. It has nothing to do with Salt and Peppa. Read and re-read my FULL comment and comprehend. And I said POP culture not culture. So stop having a mental breakdown because you’re pressed.

      • Hadley June 7, 2014

And the fact that you can’t enforce a point without throwing irrelevant insults says a lot. Not to the mention the fact I am a collage student so making that point about grammar is VOID. Secondly, my point wasn’t about feminism in the first place, but if Beyonce’s feminism isn’t taken seriously outside of her ‘slow’ fan base why is it widely discussed and debated in the media, not to mention she has TWO collage courses on her in the US. Please come with some solid evidence to back up your bias because right it just sounds like anti Beyoncé drivel.

    • Blue Ivy Carter-Rodriguez June 7, 2014

All this impact you say and you’re telling me she cannot chart higher or slay worldwide? Bye

      • Yeah I Said It June 7, 2014

Are you slow? The persons point is not about charts.

  5. LovebirdTGJ June 7, 2014

  12. Molly June 7, 2014

@Rosie hey babe i miss you. how are you?

    • Rosie June 7, 2014

I’m good. I was in the states last week to visit. It was pretty fun. I missed a lot of stuff, though.

    • Blue Ivy Carter-Rodriguez June 7, 2014

      Anyone*

    • Mark111 June 7, 2014

Hahahahaha, it’s funny looking back on stuff. Look at all the excuses the Hive made, sounds alot like the Lamb now. Irony of the article compared Run with #1 hits Born This Way and Hold It Against Me, lol cause they’re flops now. Loke I said, every stan will have their day of floppage.

  13. Blue Ivy Carter-Rodriguez June 7, 2014

The tick hive are so pathetic. How could a flop single have impact? Even the pressed Juice and Samantha Golbloom have labeled it as a flop. Wrap it up y’all, it’s getting real dry with your desperation to make Beyoncé look good

  14. Mark111 June 7, 2014

Your fave’s impact is an old hip hop group playing her song in a club? Ok.

    hahahahahahah.

  15. Mark111 June 7, 2014

    But Rita Whora though! Lmfao

  16. MC!! June 7, 2014

Yeah lyrics that had so much impact from the men who wrote them…next!!

  17. Yeah I Said It June 7, 2014

Its a true story that RTW deffo has more impact on pop culture than over a third of Rihanna #1s. I agree with the person who said that.

  18. The Great Lacefronce. June 7, 2014

Lol, the Flea Hive talking about impact from a

one or two hit wonder lol

I think Whaleonce is the same age as them anyways

    • Yeah I Said It June 7, 2014

The Hive aint talking about Salt And Peppa dumb h**. Read the comments.

  19. Applause June 7, 2014

Ok the hive is DELUSIONAL foreal.

    • Lolz June 7, 2014

  20. IStanForYourFav June 7, 2014

No comment. However, they look amazing for their age.

  21. MISHKA June 8, 2014

Salt’n’Pepa was the truuuuth and another proof you can stay edgy and s*** without “tittaying” around

  22. MISHKA June 8, 2014
