Dropping out of thin air on December 13th of last year, Beyonce’s ‘Beyonce’ has moved an impressive 702,000 units between the January and July of this year, making it the highest selling R&B/Hip Hop LP of the year thus far, coming in at #1 on Billboard’s ‘Top 10 Selling R&B/Hip-Hop Albums.’
On Pharrell’s successful year, the publication explains:
“GIRL” spawned the year’s top R&B/Hip-Hop digital song, “Happy,” which has sold over 5.6 million downloads and spent 12 consecutive weeks at No. 1 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart. Williams is nearly 1.8 million downloads ahead of the second biggest R&B/hip-hop seller, John Legend’s “All Of Me,” (3.9 million). “Happy” currently stands as the top-selling digital song of 2014 across all genres.
