Times are a-changing over at ‘Epic Records.’

One year removed from Ciara‘s self-titled fifth LP, the singer joins fellow ‘Epic’ acts Sade and Tamar Braxton to welcome the label’s new ‘SVP of Promotion’ Traci Adams.

Why a successful run with Rihanna makes Adams more than qualified for her new role?

Find out below…

‘Billboard‘ reveals:

In her new role, Adams is responsible for building a presence in the urban space for the label and will now oversee urban, hip-hop and adult contemporary formats. Since joining Epic in 2012 as vp urban promotion, Adams has delivered six No. 1 singles, including the most recent from Atlanta-based artist Future with “Move That Doh.”

Celebrated for her work with Rihanna when she served as national director of promotion at ‘Def Jam’, Adams has now been tasked with overseeing urban, hip-hop and adult contemporary formats, reporting to the label’s Executive Vice President Benny Hough, who shared:

It gives me great pleasure to watch Traci grow into a seasoned executive. She is a strong leader for the urban promotion team, and we are fortunate to be able to cultivate her talents.”

Before getting to work on Ciara’s forthcoming project, Adams explained:

Epic has afforded me the opportunity to grow as an executive, and I’m extremely thankful and humble at the opportunity to continue to do what I enjoy.

    • Sweetnothings78 July 1, 2014

Oh wow how musically ignorant of you.
      Sade is a legend.
Clearly you know not a thing about music, at all.

Don’t ever talk about Sade in your life. She is one of the most iconic women/artist in general who can come out right now and SLAY LIVES! She is a legend b****, that’s who she is

Atlanta ghetto mess oh I see. She’s soooo irrelevant.

  4. Rihanna Lately July 1, 2014

Sade is a legend I respect her but no one will respect ciara and I will never respect ciara.

Uhmm don’t be cocky lol @RihannaLately.. I like rih but what Ciara did during the 2013 BET awards is still more iconic than any Rihanna performance. She may be not very successful but talent & class > commercial success. Tbh

Ciara and iconic shouldn’t even be in the same sentence

Did someone say Ciara’s BET Performance was “Iconic?” LMFAO!!!!!!! I won’t lie, that was her best performance but damn that part at 5:15 – 5:22 was terrible lol. “YehYehYehYehYehYehYeh…” lmao.

Tinashe’s pre show performance killed CiErrors performance.

Ciara’s 2013 performance was better than any performance on the award show last year and this year.Be real.Tinashe was cute but she was doing what Ciara was doing at the beginning of her career..That TWERK at the end was very reminiscent of Ciara’s earlier years.

Love Sade. She’s beautiful. Her voice is so smooth, so sultry and relaxing. It’s like poetry. I can listen to it all day.

Either LA needs to be fired or the label will shut down completely by the end of next year. It’s pathetic that a DEAD artist is by far and away their best seller, they pulled out all the stops for Xscape but can’t even get any of their current artists to book any promo spot other than the Wendy Williams show. Even RCA is a million times better then them.

    Give ciara her credit.
No one in the industry today, other than beyonce, can put on a show like Ciara.
Chris is beginning to drop the ball.

Wait, LA Reid is still with them? Haven’t they learned any better by now, just look at how many careers/projects LA has destroyed. He is a danger to the music industry in every form. He must be stopped.
