Days before she’s receive to the highly sought after award at this weekend’s VMAs, Beyonce has been showered with praise by MTV President Van Toffler, who has revealed that she was the “obvious choice” when he was tasked with deciding which of Pop’s star would be honoured on the night.
Details on his decision below…
Speaking to ‘Billboard‘, Toffler explained:
The decision to give Beyoncé the award had absolutely nothing to do with the controversy or chatter and was decided well before this. In fact, just after Justin [Timberlake] left the stage in 2013. And then when Beyoncé put out an album in such a visual way, she was the most obvious choice.

Bey deserved the Vanguard Award before Justin Timberlake. None of his solo videos made an impact on Pop Culture like the Single Ladies video, and this is coming from a fan of both.
