R&B legend Babyface has showered praise on British singer Nathan Sykes this week, teasing a collaboration between the pair and praising the performer’s vocal chops.

Kind words from the prolific hit maker below…

On Sykes, the ‘Take a Bow’ writer shared:

Wait until you hear the voice on @NathanSykes! This guy can sing!’

This, prompting ‘The Wanted’ singer to share:

Amazing day. Just had a moment thinking about everything and I’m now going to sleep feeling especially grateful tonight!  Goodnight everyone!
Their exchange comes as Nathan continues work on a solo project in Los Angeles, and comes after he lent said voice to Ariana Grande‘s ‘Almost Is Never Enough’, which peaked at #82 on the Billboard Hot 100.
So, just how and why Mr.Sykes is the name hot on many an industry lip?

Your thoughts?

Eh. Well at least he’s working with Babyface and not Dr. Luke, Mike Will or some cliche producer of raggedy trap or eurofag pop. That’s about all I got. I’m not a fan of 90’s-born entertainers though so I won’t be buying it anyways.

      90’s born entertainer’s , what’s wrong with them exactly?

I’m sorry, but if they aren’t old enough to remember Jurassic Park, In Living Color or TLC’s “Creep,” then there’s no way in hell I’ll be able to take them seriously enough for them to entertain me.

But you are right that it’s a good thing he’s working with the legendary Babyface. Mr. Edmonds should know a lot about stellar vocals knowing that he’s worked with the BEST of the BEST in R&B. Think of his repertoire; Toni, Whitney, Mariah, Boyz II Men, Tevin Campbell… The list goes on. Maybe I’ll take his word for it.

Nathan sounds horrible live but he is white working with black producers so he should be fine.

I just wish August Alsina had collaborated with Babyface. He needs to work on his songwriting skills for his sophomore album.

Def Jam needs to A&R August and stop playing.

Def Jam needs to focus on Hip Hop acts. Them focusing on singers never seemed right to me. UMG is a huge music company, I’m sure August can get transferred to a more appropriate imprint.
