Though Barbra Streisand‘s ‘Partners’ is set to top the Billboard 200 with 165,000 units, Brown’s ‘X’ is now on course to move around 140,000 units this week, set to reach the sales mark following the global success of its supporting single ‘Loyal.‘

That’s because Barbara is an icon for talent, not stolen shock value.
His album just came out yesterday, way too soon for predictions. And I just can’t accept him 120k or even 140k. Chris Brown is a huge artist that sold more than the 100k column after the incident that could of end his career. With all the promo and hits he had with this album I just feels he should be doing more. Btw its a great album!

Taylor Swift & Garth Brooks sells, like every genre most artists albums sales are down in recent times. Only a few acts are keeping up with their numbers. We will see when the big selling artists release their albums in the next few months if those artists numbers have dropped off has well. So far this year I dont think any album released in 2014 in the USA have sold over 400k in the 1st week.

These are good numbers for a R&B male soloist compared to those numbers for those 2 country singers McGraw & Strait they did not even get close to 100k. And like I said yesterday Trey Songz 105k, John Legend 68k, August Alsina 67k, they’re not many R&B acts hitting high numbers in recent times. But I bet Barbara have shocked them they probably was looking at the 2 country singers as the competition for the #1 spot. Congrats to Barbara & Chris

Y’all keep hyping up 1st week sales like they really matter. John Legend sold 68k the 1st wk but is pushing almost 650k. Fortune sold 135k the 1st wk, but only sold like 475k overall, so unless he continues to promote, X will fall off the charts in a couplw of months. He’s already released 5 singles over an 18 month period and only 2 actually had some type of impact. So at this point, this album will sell simply off the strength of his name alone. New Flame is doing well, but mostly on Urban radio. I see X doing 400k at the most overall
Haven’t heard the album but how can anyone expect huge numbers for Chris when he only had loyals really to sell the album which was released a LONG. Time ago. So these are great numbers for him. His name doesn’t hold the same weight as it did and as stated previously, he hasn’t had a single that really stock besides loyals.
As far as ppl saying only country sells, that is false. N not only do black ppl download music illegally, whites do it too as well as country fans. Do let pop singer Taylor have u think other wises. She isn’t doing well bc she makes country but bc she has a large fan base.
