‘V’ magazine had the pleasure of catching up with Nicki Minaj recently, stepping into her world as she steps closer to the December 15th release of her new album ‘The Pinkprint.’

So, what time better than now to unwrap details on the project’s track list, broken down for her fans during her interview with the mag.

What the world can expect from the emotional release?

Find out after the jump…

Minaj reveals:

You can expect a great intro piece that really walks you through where my mind has been the past two years, and there’s a strong love and relationship section that has been lacking lately on the radio. It’s not the glossy stuff, but the nitty-gritty, the fights, the heart- breaking things that people don’t really touch on in rap.  And for my core, I have the hard shit. It’s the stuff that makes everyone excited and gives them the stink face in the room, and makes people bop super hard.

Her info-spilling came after her new single ‘Only’ became the Most Added song on Rhythmic radio this week, and debuted at #54 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Alas, with the cut unlikely to match the success of the Platinum ‘Anaconda‘, here’s hoping ‘Pink’ houses the melodic Rap bops Ms. Minaj‘s discography is in dire need of.

For, as gifted as she is, it’s clear that the rapper is still unable to pen a classic Hip Hop number, either going too “gritty” on the likes of ‘Chi-Raq‘ or too Pop on ‘Starships.

Jarring, especially when ‘High School’ was the closest thing she had come to getting it all the way right, and would have worked wonders for her had the push behind it lasted any more than a few weeks.

So, what kind of bops we’d love to hear on ‘Print’? West Coast flavoured jams packing sugary sweet R&B hooks, her “New Yoik” tone and flows akin to the one sported in LL Cool J‘s ‘Hey Lover.

Just thinking aloud.

    • Dem Lessors November 6, 2014

Yawn, just because she had a name for her next album doesn’t mean it was being promoted. Try again.

      • JOHNVIDAL November 6, 2014

Really? She´s been having singles and features non stop for two years. Apart from the interviews, constant covers, etc.

I’m clearing the space for this album on my iPhone now. Please cut Pills ‘n’ Potion off the tracklist or make it a bonus track.

  6. Mark111 November 6, 2014

But she always say that her albums are gonna be hard and blah blah blah, and then we get songs like Anaconda. Don’t have a problem with songs like that, but she has yet to have an albums with great lyrics.

    • Skyfall November 6, 2014

      Her debut was amazing

      • Dem Lessors November 6, 2014

For me she’s always lyrically delivered, people ignored the flow she had on songs like Come On A Cone & HOV Lane because of it’s narcissism and the dance singles which promoted PF:RR. I guess David is saying she hasn’t had a rap cut that has been recognised as a classic like Biggy, Kanye and 2pac have had. Cuts that get everyone going and are still hot in the club years later.

    • The Professor November 6, 2014

Did you even bother to listen to her previous records? Cause if you had, you wouldn’t be talkin s***.

Anaconda’s a fun song, so what? She already released Lookin Ass, Chi-Raq, Yas B**** and Only, and these song are enough to drag these other h***. Nicki’s been a great lyricist, just listen to PnP, Freedom, Fly, Champion, Save Me and others.

I’m here for those ballads, love nicki’s melodies

  8. How Many Drinks November 6, 2014

Im here for Nicki I hope she delivers.

  9. cmplxbeing November 6, 2014

For, as gifted as she is, it’s clear that the rapper is still unable to pen a classic Hip Hop number, Ms. David girl whoever you might be please have several seats!! Yes Nicki has gone the pop route several times, given the climate of black music who can blame her? I would like to think that when Nicki does do an authentic hip hop record she does it right did you forget about “Beez in the Trap”? That IMHO will definitely go down as a classic hip hop number.

    • Realest November 6, 2014

So basically “bees in the trap” is in the same category as “California love”, “juicy”, “big pimpin”, “Queen biitchh”, “rappers delight”, “aint no nihgas”, “if I ruled the world”, “I can’t stand the rain”, “ex factor”????

LIES, honey you need to step up your standards of rap doll face

  10. BLACKOUT TBH November 6, 2014

Still irritated that she named the album after a Jay-Z classic tbh. You’re good but you’re not Blueprint good gun. Take several seats tbh. All I’m really expecting are a few good club tracks, a few basic features from irrelevant artists, some Wayne, a couple of “emotional” tracks where she lies to herself thinking she can sing and a “I am the only girl who matters in hip-hop” track where she attempts to diss and bring down other women by claiming she opened doors that had already been opened by the likes of Missy and Kim cas she’s pressed that she’s now living in an Iggy world. Oh and throw a few ridiculous “Roman Holiday Part Deux” and “Stupid H** Part 389” just to remind you that sometimes the fire she spits can be put out with utter trash tailored to her 14 year old Barbz whose knowledge of hip-hop only goes as far back as 2009. Still, people will eat it up and she’ll collect coins at a rate and level that none of us ever will so go-head Onika. Slay witcha 10% actual music, 20% tween-garbage and 70% ass-references. The world is thy oyster boo.

    • BLACKOUT TBH November 6, 2014

Meant to type “hun” and my phone typed “gun” instead. I have more controversy in my touchscreen keypad than Ms Maraj does in her entire Anaconda video. Try and slay harder than me. #WhoYouFinnaTry

    • rose gold November 6, 2014

iggy fan acting like she know what rap is.dumb ass sheep.

Moment for life was close to that. She just needs better production.

    • YOU THOUGHT November 7, 2014

All of that false typing and yet you’re still gonna be first in line to buy the album.

  11. Realest November 6, 2014

She always acts like her music like its going to be so thought provoking and deep- and then we get “you b****** are my sons and I got a fat asz” over and over. Every album is underselling. You would think as the only new generation female rapper out for the past few years (pre Iggy) that she would have a catalogue full of s*** that’s undeniably fire- and she just doesn’t. No competition(until now) and a million MEDIOCRE songs. She would have been nothing had she came out in the 90’s where there was real competition

    • YOU THOUGHT November 7, 2014

Are you serious? Have you heard Freedom, Pills N Potions, Save Me, Blazin’, I’m the Best, Moment 4 Life, etc?

  12. ace November 6, 2014

      • rose gold November 6, 2014

would love a remy and nicki track to be honest and even dej loaf too.

    Boring…..

  17. E November 6, 2014

Im proud of Nicki. I do hope we can finally get that old classic track though. I only say because we’ve never gotten that From her, however we’re not in the 90’s time frame were in 2014 and records like “Chi-Raq” Yass Bissh, & Only are the hard hitters. But other than that she’s given every element throughout her music. She is the innovation, the print to be successful in the rap realm. #nickiminaj

  18. rose gold November 6, 2014

lookin ass wouldve been a classic for her. SHe needs to keep that sound.
