Days before the release of her new album, ‘Autobiography’ performer Nicki Minaj has set a ratings record with her recent appearance on NBC‘s ‘Saturday Night Live’, casting a hot pink shadow on efforts made by the series’ other guest stars.

“Saturday Night Live,” with host James Franco and musical guest Nicki Minaj (4.4 rating, 11 share in household results in the 56 markets metered by Nielsen Media Research; 2.2/10 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with Local People Meters) delivered the show’s second highest rating in metered-market households so far this season, trailing only the Nov. 1 telecast (with host Chris Rock and musical guest Prince, 4.9/12).
Her ratings-pulling performance on the show saw her outperform appearances made by Cameron Diaz, Ariana Grande, Iggy Azalea and Maroon 5, none of whom were able to match the 4.4 million viewers Ms. Minaj pulled in during her special.
In related news, today has seen the rapper announce that she is to hit the road with Trey Songz, whom she has called on to support her forthcoming ‘Pinkprint Tour.’
She revealed:
