Not able to the listen to the song right now, but my Problem with Ciara is that she is Kind of repetitive. I feel like she has the same two Songs on every Album (the ones that Sound like gimme that). Nonetheless, I liked the Evolution and on every Album is something for the gym, so I’m fine with that.
What?… She’s progressed so much vocally. And she has her “sound”… Something a lot of artist lack and that’s why their all over the place musically. When someone’s developed their stamp and sound, you should be able to tell right away from the beat who it is. Just like MJ and Prince developed their distinct sound.

I got it! The beat sounds a lil like an unreleased Aaliyah song, Steady Ground, at least to me. But I know the other reason I like this, her vocal style is balanced with her low tones (Goodies and The Evolution) and her later high voice. So the emotions comes out because she’s singing with different emotions throughout the song. Even tho the top note was studio magic, the rest is classic Ciara. I have to give respect to her for never leaving R&B, even when others have. So I’ll buy this when it’s for sell, but heck, I bought all but FR from her.

I wasn’t expecting much, so I’m actually impressed. It’s a sound that is familiar and easy to listen to. This is what was needed. I’m glad she didn’t come out with some tacky trap/twerk nonsense, gay ass EDM bull or weird PBR&B hipster crap. Now for her sake, I hope she has her deck chairs in order, a competent team in place that will know how to promote her and is prepared to work this album for the long haul, despite the very likelihood that it WILL get off to a modest start.

I hate when urban artists feel compelled to release dual singles for different markets. All that does IMO is shortchange one or both, because at some point one will overtake the other priority-wise. Worst of all it’s pandering and fence walking, which makes them look disingenuous. Choose ONE single and promote it across the board. If this is her first single, then she and her label need to support and promote it to completion, then move on to the next. 2 singles is like going out on a date with 2 people and running back and forth from table to table.
