It’s no question that pint size powerhouse Ariana Grande hit a slam dunk with her show-stopping halftime show at the 2015 NBA All Star game.
Wielding a slew of her chart-toppers, the young diva bounced her way from hit to hit via the 11 minute headlining set – much to the delight of her faithful #Arianators.
Critics, on the other hand, weren’t so pleased.
After tapping ‘Bang Bang’ co-star Nicki Minaj to join her on stage for last night’s showing, the ‘Problem’ songstress seems to have had quite a problem with naysayers who’ve weighed in on her assets (or lack thereof).

She’s not crying, it’s called standing up for yourself and for the millions of others who go through this. Just because someone is a public figure doesn’t mean it is ok to body shame them. That’s not ok for anyone. The same insecure people who body shame on the internet are probably the same ones who do it in real life because they think it’s ok to do.
It’s absolutely fine to stick up for yourself, but celebrities need to realise it comes with the territory, just like iggy, stop crying and prove to us why you are where you are, Ariana is a very lucky girl to have been chosen to be the next it girl, can she show us that she has the backbone for it? she is being paid millions and millions, she can at least ignore the opinions that are bound to float around
I see what you’re saying and I kind of agree that she has to get tougher skin. But I think we can all agree that next to Iggy, Ariana gets the most hate out of every woman in music. While Iggy gets hate for her music, Ariana’s is purely based off her appearance. Even if your getting paid millions and your career is at a high point, it’s hard to ignore thousands of people bashing you for your hair, clothes, and body size. It doesn’t help that social media makes these thoughts more accessible to see.

The skinny bashing is almost as tired as the little kid jokes at this point. I guess when people can’t hate you for your lack of talent or quality work, they go low and go for appearances. Christina Aguilera still gets treated the same way, even with a beautiful body. This body shaming culture has become so accepting in the world, it’s really sickening. Whether someone is famous or not, it’s not ok.
