Not even the force that is Lady GaGa could rain on Rita Ora‘s Oscar parade last night, watching the Brit-based singer fly the flag for female artists on Shazam hours after they performed at the ceremony.
Shazam uses a device’s built-in microphone to collect a small sample of an audio played into it. Then, it scans the sample across its database until it finds a match, going on to send the cut’s details to the device’s user.
Today, the service has revealed that Rita’s performance of the ‘Beyond the Lights’ cut ‘Grateful’ was the second most queried performance of the night, beating each and every single female artist to make it to #2 as Maroon 5’s presentation of ‘Lost Stars’ stood tall at #1.
