With his latest album ‘Trigga’ barely 7 months in his rearview (and a re-release of said project in his very near future), R&B heartthrob Trey Songz has shared that he is already hard-at-work on album #7.
Engaging a New York crowd of fans anxious to hear about his latest business venture, SX Liquors, the Grammy nominated singer dropped a surprise when he dished on his forthcoming musical ventures that include a new album & new solo tour…this year!

Trey Songz on ‘Trigga Reloaded’:
Video In-Article Ad (Desktop)“With Trigga Reloaded, I wanted to give records like ‘Slow Motion’ and other records that I had no place for a home,” he said. “…I wanted more people to hear Trigga. April 14th is when Trigga Reloaded will come out, and towards the end of the year I will be pushing forward to Tremaine, and I also have another tour.”

Trey Songz on ‘Tremaine’ themes:
Video In-Article Ad (Desktop)“I actually started [on Tremaine] the same time that I started Trigga, he said. “Trigga, Tremaine, Trey Songz, they all kind of been the three personalities I put into music throughout my career.”
Video In-Article Ad (Desktop)“It’s just another layer of myself. The Tremaine album will kind of be like the base of what my career started as. In music now, in R&B and hip hop, I feel like it’s easy to make women feel sexy and be a bad bitch, but I feel like the Tremaine album will kind of put women on the pedestal again and show that it’s cool to love, it’s cool to want to be romantic, and it’s cool to want to be in a relationship.” (Source)

Reports have it that Songz, already on tour with fellow Virginian R&B hitmaker Chris Brown, is readying a solo “Trigga” tour later this year after coming to this side of the pond for a month with Nicki Minaj (see those dates here).

Everyone doing self titled albums nowadays….. What’s the T?
Well actually everyone has been doing it In the 90s nearly everyone had a self titled
I lowkey want #r8 to be self titled.
People been doing self-titles for decades. Most of the time it’s the first album. If not the first introduction, then it’s the most personal/risk album. Britney, Janet, Aaliyah, Beyonce, I’ll even throw Ciara in there.
so basically he’ll be singing about the saaaaame stuff… S**, Love, Pain, blablabla… if he could sing instead of sounding like a goat at least. boy bye
All of his 6 albums sound the same. If you’ve heard one, you’ve heard them all. He’s shown no growth as an artist all this time and remains sounding like Scooby Doo.

LMAOOOOO! LMAOOOOO LMAOOOOO LMAOOOOO!
I lov trey but all of his music is starting to sound the same , hopefully he brings something different with this new album he needs new producers
That’s a good idea because although I like his last album “Trigga” his act of being a s** symbol is becoming redundant, so is his public image and music videos.
And hopefully I see him work with past R&B stars like Lionel Richie, Stevie Wonder, Keith Sweat, R. Kelly and etc because I need to see more of my BLACK people to pay tribute and put their OWN people on a peddle stone instead of praising the white people all the time.
That goes for ALL the top R&B and Pop stars thats BLACK in music right now.
baby what on earth is a ‘peddle stone’ tho???
SCREAMING @ Paulo
I absolutely love “All Hands on Deck”. I seriously hope it becomes her first top 5 single on the Hot 100. Its too damn good to not be in the top 5.
He only has one stand out album which is READY.. The rest are so basic but good luck boo.
Ready slayed lives sis!!! I still listen to that album but as for everything else,no thanks!!!
Yes b**** if only the rest of his albums could be as good maybe then he’d be on ushers level
Good looks and s** appeal will only take you so far. Why can’t he work with a choreographer or something? Unlike CB, he’s concerts look very boring and they probably are, so are his generic cheap-looking music videos. They definitely are boring. Good luck to him anyway.
Trey Songs is the stale R&B that should be left pre 2010, Miguel and The Weeknd are true R&B revolutionaries… check out my latest post on Rihannas new song at WHATS THE UPDATE DOT WORDPRESS DOT COM
I just hope he gives me “I Gotta Make It” teas. That album is my favorite and when I was really a big fan.
Glad to see Trey grinding but honestly musically he is very stale and it’s time for him to step out of the box if he wants that recognition he’s been desperately craving.
I gotta make it up until ready have been Trey’s peak thus far if you ask me.
I can’t believe he’s about to be on album 7. It’s crazy how time flies.
I’m here for Tremess…or maybe not
He’s giving me bottom in the pic yall posted… But good luck with this album tho
Chile, another tour? Does he have to cling to other artists just to be able to book arenas instead of those half-filled clubs and theatres he’s used to? Oh wait…i forgot….he has to.
Trey never had IT, looking back how him, CB and Neyo all came out the same time, he was always left in the dust. But he will have the longer career out of all of them. I get that he’s a watered down R Kelly with less than half of the talent, but he serve his target. He never put himself in the music, I never heard anything personal from him.
Wow, you are right Mark. A bit harsh but true. I think he’s a good Artist though. And yea, I’ve had a few of his albums and I can’t really say I know him for real. Like with brandy’s music. When I listen to her albums. I feel like she’s telling me “her” story. Trey? I just feel like he trying to relate. Idk. But I’m rooting for him though.
Bout time he’s going back to his roots I guess. I personally think his PPP album was on point. That was a cohesive piece of art to me. You all should check it out if you haven’t.
I dont understand why artists re release albums that havent done good in sales. He needs to start from scratch and work with other producers so he can step outside of the normal box. All his music is the same. 7 albums of the same songs! I love Trey because he’s a good singer but he’s boring to me!
I think Trey is going big on the 7th album. 7 is God’s no. of perfection. I like a lot of his work, he is nt trying 2 be like anybody else. He just needed time 2 grow and that he has. I think The Tremaine album is gona b huge.
