After Harmony Samuels was accused of biting Usher’s ‘U Got It Bad’ to build Ciara’s ‘I Bet’ by Jermaine Dupri, the ‘Work’ singer’s on/off collaborator Soundz has weighed in on the matter.
Why the ‘Sophomore’ producer thinks Dupri doesn’t have the right to sue the cut crafters for copyright infringement.

Yawn. He isn’t bitter over Mariah’s album. He’s bitter bc he’s in debt since 2006 (20 YO). He made 12-15 million up front from TEOM & Confessions. He spent all of his money and lost Janet. When Def Jam did not use his work on Memoirs and Usher didn’t use him for the last two records, he went completely broke. No one wants to work with him, except MC, and she’s only doing that to help him keep a check in his pocket. He was paid a total of around of $450k for his production on MIAMTEC, but as soon as he got it, it was spent on catching up for more bills. He’s definitely bitter, but it damn sure isn’t Mariah’s fault.
Or Bow Wow, Da Brat, Jagged Edge, or anyone else that he’s worked with in the last two years chasing a check.

“All Hands On Deck” was suppose to be her second single but she went with “Pretend” instead because she didn’t want people to feel she is one dimensional. So she isn’t quite worried about charts yet, she’s thinking of longevity.

When the song first came out, I remember seeing a few comments on here and other sites that it sounded like U Got It Bad. My friend said the same thing but I still didn’t get the similarities. It wasn’t until yesterday when I sat down to listen to both songs in detail that I understood where those who pointed out that they sounded alike were coming from. JD is clearly looking for a check with this one because I doubt he can sue for two songs having a similar style. His broke ass needs to sit.
