Kelly Rowland is back to business.
The ‘Motivation’ maven is juggling motherhood with the creation of new music.
During a sit-down with HuffPost Live moments ago, the 34-year-old opened up about nurturing son Titan Jewell and how it’s shaping the process of recording the follow-up to 2013’s ‘Talk A Good Game.’
The insightful chat saw Ms. Kelly reveal that the set will skew much more uptempo than previous efforts. She also named Kanye West as the main collaborator she’s angling for on the project, which she is currently deciding whether to release independently or with a major label.

Because, despite being a solid body of work musically, ‘Talk A Good Game’ lacked due to not catering to the clubs. Kelly’s strongest feat is her ability as a performer, as such the material she pushes should provide a vehicle to showcase that. Folk want choreography, weave whipping, and wind machines. Something faster BPMs will facilitate.
As for Kanye, that would be all sorts of awesome.

Colossal mistake – Kelly hanging onto Roc Nation (yep Kanye is under Jay Z’s management). I was waiting for something like this when I saw her sitting next to Kanye @ Paris fashion show and next to her was Solange (big disappointment, as I thought of her as a free thinker and strong woman – Nope)
Kelly’s greatest strengths is uptempos and performing? wow… for someone who goes hard for her as much as you do, you sure don’t know a thing about your fav. Talk A Good Game was flawfree as a record… but of course Kelly didn’t promote it and that’s why it tanked.

Kelly’s problem is promo. It has always been promo. It doesn’t matter if it’s uptempo or not, she wont sell if she doesn’t promote it. I wouldn’t say her strength is in performing but having a versatile voice that can do multiple genres. No one really sees her as a performer, but we all know Kelly can do pop, R&B, and dance music well. Kanye is a musical genius, so having him working on material will guarantee it’s quality. Kelly just needs to worry about promo, whether its from Roc Nation or independent.
I’m very excited for her. I hope we get some videos of her killing choreo like in Lose My Breath. She seems like she’s in a good space considering the bittersweet times she’s been having. Love Kelly!

TAGG was her best body of work. Dirty Laundry shouldn’t have been a single, she should have picked Freak or Put Your Name On It. TAGG was underrated and didn’t perform well mainly because of lack of promotion and marketing strategy.

Aside from album sales…Kelly albums are usually solid quality wise and she truly does excel on up tempos and dance music cause for some reason her voice really shines on those kinda tracks.and she needs to realise her european fanbase is way bigger that the states and make her coins over there!
