The campaign for Rita Ora‘s second studio album has been quite the roller-coaster.
Initially due last year, the project was taken back to the drawing board after a public fall-out with ex boyfriend/producer Calvin Harris. This, despite the set yielding the chart-topping single ‘I Will Never Let You Down.’
In the twelve months that have passed since the drama, the 24-year-old has kept busy with countless endorsements, high profile features, acting gigs on the big and small screen, and a coaching role on The Voice UK.
Musically, though, it finally looks as if Ora is ready to roll with her LP.

During an interview with Capital FM today, the Roc Nation singer said of her new material:
“I actually have decided on the first single and I’m not giving you the release date because it is this year, I swear, just wait. It’s a mid-tempo, but it’s a heartfelt one. This will come definitely before the summer time.”
Speaking about juggling her album with her musical duties elsewhere, she added:
“As long as the album is in full motion (which is my biggest priority), I try to make space for things like this feature I’ve got with Charles called ‘New York Raining’ which just premiered on ‘Empire.’ It’s amazing. I think one that his story is so extreme, if you know anything about Charles Hamilton and his background. And for me to be involved with anything that’s like a rebirth for him.”
Folk say an awful lot about Rita, but there is entirely no denying that she stays on her grind. Indeed, there’s a number of established acts that could learn a few things from her drive.

She is beautiful and a good singer but her promo outside the UK has been all over the place. This next album will be lucky to have equal success to ORA considering how bad the roll out has been. One thing we really can’t deny is that Rita is on her grind. However, that is what’s hurting her. I feel like Rita is too busy doing all these other things to where music is #3 or #4. As many have said, she seems more focused on being a celebrity then an actual artist. She will literally add her name to anything for the sake of being apart of it.
