Though typically cordial due to the mutual admiration their faves Taylor Swift and Beyonce have for each other, the divas’ fans (affectionately called the #Swifties and #Beyhive respectively) have been locked in social media debates over the last few weeks over who should be crowned Billboard’s ‘Greatest Pop Star of the 21st Century.’
With competition from the likes of Usher, Drake, Katy Perry, Rihanna, Lady Gaga, and Adele out of the way due to lower rankings on the tally, it was presumed Swift and Bey would be the finalists duking it out for the top two spots.
Video In-Article Ad (Desktop)On Tuesday afternoon (November 26), Billboard announced a shocker: Taylor tapped in at #2.
Video In-Article Ad (Desktop)Branding her the “most famous woman in the world,” Billboard lifted a laud-filled praise session for the Pop diva as a needle-pushing pioneer who has “rejected culture’s previous expectations for female artists to be overtly sexy, pliable and cool, she was able to forcefully, gravitationally bend culture to her will and become one of the world’s biggest undisputed pop stars, despite her eight-year late start in country music.”
Video In-Article Ad (Desktop)Elsewhere in the write-up, the music Bible’s staff applauded her unmatched stats including having the most Hot 100 entries among women, the most #1 albums in Billboard 200 history among women, being of the most impressive touring artists of all time (box office revenue), and many more.

Who else but THE QUEEN👑🐝
I agree with this as much as Taylor has had an impact on music as a whole when it comes to all of her album releases and sales. She is a great performer who is extremely accomplished and has one of the biggest fan bases around the world, she has huge hits that will define a generation. Although she may beat Queen B in sales, she is just not on the same level as Beyonce as a performer. Beyonce is the embodiment of a total performer. When Beyonce and performs it is always iconic, and people always remember. She has the hits, the catalogue , and hits that will be heard for many generations to come. While they are both once in a lifetime, Beyonce has the edge on being a top knot performer in terms of her vocals, stage presence, choreography, and stamina of being the greatest pop star.
Beyonce has been doing this for so many decades now and she deserves the title.
💯
TWO DECADES are not “so many decades,” please.
She has been performing since the 90s with Destiny’s Child. She’s been around from the 90s until now which is 2024. She’s had hits in every decade. You can have several seats.
Taylor has NOT had an impact on music. All she does is sell. She doesn’t move cultures, not that whyty folk have one but still. There;s literally nothing impactful she has done outside of selling a million records a week
You mean Beyonce gyrating herself across the floor with s**** outfits? This award was bought by Beyonce, Jay-Z and her team as usual
Beyonce is UNDERRATED, an UNDERDOG. Impressive to see her beat the epitome of OVERRATED despite. 👍🏼 👌🏽
Beyoncé is falling from grace after endorsing Kamala Harris.
I’m not a swifty, but I think she has 11 number ones and Beyonce has 7. TS is clearly number one
Beyonce has 13 number 1s.
#FACT CHECK ✔️ ✅️
Sorry but destiny’s child era doesn’t count nor her flop movie soundtrack
These feminists losers ain’t s*** after supporting evil witch Kamala Harris.
She stands out amongst her peers because, bland saltine as she is, she has never sung about her c****** nor twerked in a g-string and knife nails. And that’s commendable in this day and age!
