Watch: Salt-N-Pepa Perform ‘Push It’ Live On ‘American Idol’

Published: Thursday 26th Mar 2015 by David

Salt-N-Pepa added a little flavour to last night’s airing of ‘American Idol’ with their classic jam ‘Push It.’

Seem random? It shouldn’t, for their performance served as one part of the show’s 80s theme, launched to celebrate all the decade had to offer the world musically.

Press play to catch the ladies bring their hit from 1986 into 2015 with sass’n’style, below…

      • metzo March 26, 2015

I don’t care if the song is legendary or not. IDGAF. That performance was terrible . I’m ignorant for thinking this song is a mess? It’s not like it’s some “Vision of Love”. Legendary my ass

Push it is a hip-pop classic and S-n-P are definitely pioneers for women in hip hop without them there would be no Lil Kim, Missy, Foxy, Lauryn or Nicki.

I’m the only one who thinks that performance was bad? K.

It wasn’t great but, I would suggest looking up the video and doing a little research on salt n peppa. They definitely have/had some bops… and the ignorant comment, I think, comes from dismissing a whole decade of music and cultural significance (of which your faves were most likely built upon) bc you don’t “get” or relate to the nostalgic factor of their appearance. No shade… no no no shade.

Well said. They can’t be booking like they did 30 years ago mite break summat!
