With no new album in sight and an array of lukewarmly received singles, Rihanna has a lot on her plate these days. Yet, it appears drugs claims is something she will not be making space for.
As reported earlier today, the vocal fright was slammed by critics for ALLEGEDLY being seen to take a suspicious substance.
Hoping to quell the flames (and save her album sales), the 27-year-old took to Instagram to clap-back.
Her words below…
We’re not sure what’s worse, the atrocious spelling or the fact it’s even come to this.
Given her pronounced lack of talent, there’s something that feels distinctly “lucky” about Rihanna’s success narrative. Something very “right place, right time, right team.” As such, we’d like to see her seem somewhat appreciative about it. And by that we mean, let’s see snaps of her leaving a recording studio, dance rehearsal, or better yet a vocal coach. Something… productive.
Because when pairing her inadequacies with her distinct aura of “I don’t give a ****” (i.e. smoking as a “vocalist”), we can’t help but feel cheated.
That said, it ultimately feels likes she’s cheating herself. Why? Scandals like this are the exact reason why Rih is only considered a pusher of “sound based entertainment,” while the likes of Adele, Beyonce, and Lady Gaga sit on a certain plateau of success and respect.
Here’s hoping she learns from this. There’s little to be gained from floating through festivals smoking and dancing when your album sits unfinished and unreleased after two years.
