Wow. This man just launched his company a month ago, and people are already trying to dig him into the ground. Anytime a black man is successful, white Hollywood sends out smear campaigns to make Jay-Z seem like a thug who’s trying to exploit money from people. Bill Gates can be a billionaire, and no one proof-checked his brand. Let Jay-Z, and black men, do our thing without white media trying to proof-check everything we do or say. Shame TGJ! You are apart of the problem.

    • Janet Xne April 28, 2015

I agree. Racism is real. However, Jay is facing this because hes not offering value for money. That makes it easier for his haters. Also, TGJ is being supportive. Sam tweets about tidal and David used them in his tumblr story.

      • Shana April 28, 2015

Please stop. Racism is a very true and potent danger but Jay is very arrogant and is learning he is just as capable of being targeted as the people he wanted to cheat with this third rate spotify. Did he care about racism when he did business with companies who used racial profiling.

    • Ciara the Flop April 28, 2015

If you looked up the word “racism” and used it correctly, you’d stop using that word on such frivolous arguments like this. Fact checking is not racism when the music industry’s greatest mercenary continues to pull the wools over the misguded’s eyes. Step your pùssy up and stop being group thinker behind rich musicians who claim to be “fresher than you” because they make money off you.

    DRAG him!!!!!

    • DEL BEY April 28, 2015

draggg your fav to the shower and wash the vomit and irrelevancy off

  3. Anastasia Beaverhousen (aka T.I.T.S.) April 28, 2015

The amount of ‘false’ they found in Kay’s answers..

This whole thing is a PR nightmare. The cat is out of the bag the app is below the 750th on iTunes.

    Perception is reality in business.

Hopefully he can turn this around…

    • Slay_Hive April 28, 2015

oh now it’s just Jay and Bey, when I dragged your ass for claiming they “needed” Rihanna’s streaming power to have a successful launch. Meanwhile American Flop did nothing for tidal or itunes . Rihanna is a flop with no pulling power. stfd b****!!!

      • LOL April 28, 2015

      • bria April 28, 2015

Her fans do not Care to support bey, jay or kanye

Now the queen relying on the lessor

People are tired of jay and bey, rihanna needs to distance herself immediately and permanently

  5. DEL BEY April 28, 2015

It will take time to build steam, at first I thought it was a flop, but then I realised it takes time, It took spotify years before they made any profit, good luck Jay & Co. but if Beyonce releases her next album on there, I won’t be happy, Beyonce is smart enough not to release any music on a current flop, let Rhianna release her stuff on there in its early days.

    • Mark111 April 28, 2015

Oh the powerful Bey can’t make her husband’s brand successful? I thought she was all powerful? Lol

      • DEL BEY April 28, 2015

well American Carbon Monoxide certainly didn’t

      • Slay_Hive April 28, 2015

Neither can Rihanna abd she released a new single on Tidal. I thought her streaming power was unmatched???

      • LOL April 28, 2015

  6. Regina George April 28, 2015

BOOM! Time read him for nasssssty filth… Some of the industry’s biggest players on a stage asking for MORE money when the concert tix are already hella high in most cases… Bye Juwanna…. This was jus a bad move in a market that is inundated with better offers

  7. Mark111 April 28, 2015

This has nothing to do with race, this is wall street and business. They did the same with BlackBerry and any other failing company, same with Sony. It’s only a black thing because this is the only thing hip hop is paying attention to. If Jay wanna brag and rap about being a business man, then he’s going to have to play ball. This isn’t the grammys or the BET awards, wall street isn’t going to kiss your @ss.

    • xedos April 28, 2015

its not a public traded company so why are they so interested and going a** shyt . you cannot buy stocks in it. other than its own by a black man and the powers that’s be is trying to kill it because it give the artist more control and money. you see as long as the black man sing dance and play sports the white is ok,but one you want to own and run your own shyt you’re going to have a lot of problem with white people. no one respect black people because we own nothing.

  8. Mee April 28, 2015

Does he let his roc nation arists keep the bulk of the money they make? Or is it only he and his friends that deserve fair pay.

  9. Suicide Blonde April 28, 2015

Oh please stop with this “white media” nonsense, he had a meltdown with all those “Facts”, it is perceived as arrogance, it has nothing to do with racism, there are white people involved in this project, remember that?

    • white people are the devil April 28, 2015

White media isn’t nonsense, it’s a real institution in society that pushes a silent but obvious agenda to make sure all minorities will never be treated as true equals. If you don’t see it, it’s because you choose not to.

      • RDK April 28, 2015

        i agree with you 100%

    • Mark111 April 28, 2015

This will be one of the few times I agree with you. It’s business and competition. These other companies are fighting for market share, the only difference is that iTunes, google and others make most of their profits from smartphones and ads. Tidal is strictly music, so Pandora and Spotify will be it’s main competitors until Beats by Apple lunches. The plus the other boys have is that they have free, ad base services.

  10. Arie April 28, 2015

Like I said before putting millionaires at the forefront was a bad move. The cool kids club strategy only works when launching a club, It’s not like you’re gonna run into Rihanna in your living room while using Tidal. A phone call from Jay or anyone for that matter is hardly an incentive. He needs to lower the price to a competitive rate, spend money on actual marketing not pointless press conferences. It would also serve them or rather him well to not react every time an article comes out, if for whatever reason he decides to go that route provide facts that can actually be proven, keep your competitors names out of your rants and lastly if you are gonna come up with conspiracy theories back it up with proof. Good luck to Jay and company, believe it or not I want them to succeed.

  11. Slay_Hive April 28, 2015

I’ll sign up for Tidal if the joint album is released there(Hopefully itunes). 😀 It’s only been a month. Everyone should give tidal a chance to grow and reach it’s full potential. I think Jay messed up when he drew so much attention to the launch and all of the superstars, that everyone had high expectations. They should just focus on better ways to draw in the consumers.

  12. Cake like Lady GaGa April 28, 2015

Not @Del Bey stealing my “American Carbon Dioxide” drag.. MY IMPACT THO!!!!!

    • DEL BEY April 28, 2015

No b****, haven’t seen u post that, it’s a pretty easy drag to come up with

  13. Music Lover~ April 28, 2015

Tidal will be fine, some things take time, and besides, it’s only been a month.

  14. Centurion April 28, 2015

Jay shouldn’t have made a big spectacle about the relaunch of Tidal. Those artists who co-own Tidal should’ve been like silent partners who happily promoted and supported Jay Z. He made a mistake by thinking that people would just flock to the service just because he has the biggest names in music backing him up. If it fails, he’ll be ridiculed forever. He’ll be laughed at, especially by his competitors.

    • Anastasia Beaverhousen (aka T.I.T.S.) April 28, 2015

I actually agree with you. I think there wouldn’t have been this kind of backlash, if the artists weren’t sitting around like the Justice League of America, and would have been silent partners.

It was a lot of bravado that turned people off. Not to mention the price point for the service, is not competitive enough…

      • Mark111 April 28, 2015

Justice League of America!!!!! Y’all are killing me.

      • Shady81 April 28, 2015

OMG!!! Did you say Justice League?? I can’t……LOL

      • TheElusiveLamb April 28, 2015

The Justice League of America LMAOOOOO!

  15. Mee April 28, 2015

Dre knows we lives in a racist world so makes sure his products are flawless. Jay thought he could sell tidal using hype. Big mistake.

    • Mark111 April 28, 2015

Beats been out for years as well. Beats sold alot of head units and had a successful streaming site. That’s why Apple paid billions for it. Jay bought Tidal for $56M, did he really think this was going to be a walk in the park? Heck, facebook bought instagram for 5 Billion. Something that cheap was a failure from the jump.

  16. Mark111 April 28, 2015

This is the man that once said, “Men lie, women lie, numbers don’t.” And TIME held him to his own words, lol. Nothing is more truth than facts.

  17. LB April 28, 2015

Well apparently I heard his wife is some queen all powerful multi million dollar mogul who can move mountains with a blink of an eye or something like that, I’m just wondering why his wife’s attempt at singing the Alicia Keys inspired song did not jump the hive to tidal.

I guess the hive are all bark and no bite. But as the HBO ratings proved, the hive are still feeling the pinch from those payday loans they took out to buy Beyonce tickets.

    • Mark111 April 28, 2015

Payday loans! Lol I’m done with you!

    • DEL BEY April 28, 2015

But your singles queen is failing to chart any this era, even American Monoxide couldn’t help tidal

      • LB April 28, 2015

Ok now go check the facts and come read your comment again. I heard you’re planning to be some journalist or something, therefore I expect better from you than this imaginary tripe you’re trying to spread.

    • hivehighness April 28, 2015

The hive has nothing to do with TIDAL in all honesty, its Jay’s business venture not Beys, she’s just a partner like your declining fave and why would the hive rush to Tidal for a video/song that was available to view on YouTube within the same week, its not an official single like American Flopxygen so save the weak shade love and try to get your girl the acclaim she so desperately wants.

      • Rihboy April 28, 2015

Oh please. Once bey married jay their ventures became joint ventures. So it’s just as much a bad flop for her as it is jay. The rest were unfortunately dragged into this mediocre business plan. Die with you wasn’t released as an official single, bus as it reached YouTube it barely cracked 80 k views, while American oxygen is at 12 million. Available on YouTube? True words of a broke bum b1tch to wait for it to be posted for free consumpsion. Either way it still shows that you guys don’t support her. Tidal is at a loss, jayz is fumbling under pressure, and bey is making videos at rave concerts for a flop long gone single. Another fight in thee elevator perhaps?

      • hivehighness April 28, 2015

Please don’t humor yourself by thinking that I am broke love, while I am a beyhive member I’d rather spend my money on an entire body of work versus a single track that you’d likely hear on the radio or many other outlets, that’s the sad part about you old navy Stans you put so much emphasis on a single that u pay the album as a whole dust. And again I say Tidal is not Beys venture its her husbands.

      • bria April 28, 2015

        Delusion at its finest

  18. white people are the devil April 28, 2015

Don’t be fooled by what white people are doing in outer space. The reason they keep going up there is because they’re building a whole world. They’re building condos, power plants, and entire communities. Once they all get up there, they will either unleash the entire nuclear arsenal of the US, release a man-made super virus and create pandemic never seen in the history of man, use HAARP to create earthquakes, hurricanes, and all types of mega-Katrina style unnatural natural disasters, or use those small satellites that orbit around asteroids and create a small gravitational pull to change the trajectory of said asteroid to collide with the earth and make sure no one darker than paper bag survives. Just remember though when this goes down in the near future, your culture, art, entertainment, etc. Will be bland, soulless, with no depth because there will be no-one for you to steal from.

    • Mee April 28, 2015

Please don’t mock the experiences of people who have faced white on black racism with such theories. Whites arent the devil, racists are.

    • Vegeta, Prince of Slayans April 28, 2015

…. sir please sit down. I get frustrated with white people at times too but that type of lunacy is not gonna help anybody. The goal is to end racism not reinforce it with that type of nonsense

  19. Stephon April 28, 2015

Where is the Mariah Carey post, about her GRAND entrance DAHHHLING?! Tidal will be fine imo. I’m sure Jay & them got a plan. Beyonce needs to release another album. I’m ready for a new Beyonce era.

    • Mark111 April 28, 2015

Why did Mariah give y’all a song about dissing Nick and not one celebrating her career or about her twins? Someone should grow up and act there age.

      • Stephon April 28, 2015

Mariah Carey sold 160,000,000+ ALBUMS. She’s already given us more than enough. 14 Studio Albums, hun. She’s spoken about her career, Life, children on multiple songs. Oh & GOD! Something your fave hardly does..

      • Mark111 April 28, 2015

Not being shady, but it’s a compilation album, to me, those albums are to celebrate your career and past work. I would had loved if #1 to infinity was about her career from start to finish (or now, and that would had been great to show that’s it’s not over, she’s still here). I think the song with the same title should had been about her growth as an artist, a person and a mother. Like if it had of been a Beyonce’s Blue or AKeys at Least I Got To Love ya. Furthermore, I would like if she had of gave at least 3 new songs, those songs could had became hits and push the album. For example, Pink’s Greatest Hits had 3 or 4 unreleased new music, those songs became hits and pushed the album. So her new songs on her greatest hits became hits, making the album full of hits. I think MC missed the ball on this one.

      • Stephon April 28, 2015

I would’ve liked MC to have kept her 1995 voice forever… But, that ain’t reality. It is what it is…

  20. LB April 28, 2015

So David will let Tyler glorify domestic violence on this site but block me for calling out the hives big empty words? I am done with you David.

  21. LB April 28, 2015

Anyway as I was going to say before I got blocked (looking at you David). Tidal is not a poor service, the rollout was poor. And having big artists in some Illuminati ritual all in the while claiming Tidal is for artists did not resonate well with the public.
The concept of Tidal is great, Jay Z just needs a brand manager to convince the public of its value. The competition in this market is fierce and so Jay Z has a mountain to climb.

    • Mark111 April 28, 2015

Why would they block you? It amazes me on what’s get removed or blocked on here when I seen racist, sexist and just horrible comments and they don’t get touched. I would like to know the rules or the lines, because it seems to only apply to a few of us and not them.

      • Stephon April 28, 2015

        They should’ve BLOCKED yo ass.

      • LB April 28, 2015

I have no idea, my guess is it’s Sam’s time of the month. I would never have imagined David would be the one to block me. Yes I do throw some mean shade sometimes but there are people who’s said worst.

Anyway their site, their rules (whatever they are). They can do whatever they want on it.

Congratulations Slay_Tyler. You deserve happiness. ????????????

  27. Stephon April 28, 2015

Mark, I’ve been listening to Aaliyah alot lately. Just because of you. Her catalog is impressive for someone that didn’t live past 21. I love her 3rd album the best. And, “I Care For You” is my fav song.

    • Mark111 April 28, 2015

We the fans never said she was better or bigger than anyone. we just love her music, style and artistry. For such a short career and life, she did more and made a mark more than most artist. We will always see her career as the potential because where she was act when she passed. It’s the same with Selena.
But yea, her last album (The Red album) was the first album I bought with my own money. I liked it, but it took a decade to really appreciate how edgy, forward and great body of work it was. I think it was her Control album. Just my opinion tho.

  28. ratedxxx April 28, 2015

The jayz and beyond fake supporters are the stupidest Stan base ever….they never do any research. .

First of all this has nothing to do with racism..jayz doesn’t own Tidal

People who own the company are Japanese and white

  29. Centurion April 28, 2015

Jay Z continues to look like a joke. You have Elijah Blake who has a release date, but no single or mag cover or something. Jay Z should just get a diploma and go study business afterwards, and maybe he can get his benighted wife to be a stay-at-home mom. ☕

    • Centurion April 28, 2015

      benighted *loose wife..

  30. y’all acting so corny like fritos April 28, 2015

I swear you guys act like these are album sales. It take time to build a business and he has enormous competition. Give him time to create a new marketing strategy that will appeal to the consumer. It’s not a bad service at all but it’s not going to take off in one day. It took Spotify almost a decade to get to where it is now. Get off his nuts. As for the racism thing… maybe, their bashing this early on which is ridiculous. You can’t deny that it exists in society

  31. ratedxxx April 28, 2015

Please jayz and his c*** wife would rather invest their money in white own companies than black companies. ..

I don’t understand how so many blacks supports these people..they don’t give two shid about y all black azzes

  32. ratedxxx April 28, 2015

How the heck the music producers and song writers are going to get more money when his wife is the biggest fraud..stealing song credits and such

How about paying all those musicians and people y all steal y all music from

    Tidal Is A fraud

    • Mark111 April 28, 2015

They did a double fact check. They even call his fact check bending truths.

  35. Danny Bey April 28, 2015

Honestly I believe only Beyoncé can save the app at this point. Like if she were exclusively release an album, concert, series of songs on TIDAL that would be its saving grace. I could go into more depth with this solution…

    • bria April 28, 2015

      With her fake sales

  36. Bravo!! April 28, 2015

I believe .J. Made a lot of people mad in the industry. Again he has a lot of top sellers on Tidal that will sell a million singles and records. I believe they don’t want him to succeed because. Once Coldplay, Beyoncé, Alicia keys, release music through Tidal its taking iTunes out of the loop. I feel they know it going to be bigger than iTunes, so the white man scared. iTunes wanted Beyoncé for a reason!!

  37. Flawda April 28, 2015

Let me get this right. Ya’ll and these ”media” people are using Tidal’s competitors charts to measure the success of the apps. lmfao As if the competitors aren’t going to fudge numbers to affect it’s competitor.

Success isn’t just chart position and anyone who doesn’t think this is a smear campaign is naive as hell.
