Our girl K. Michelle is back at it!
While most were applauding her vocal showing at fellow ‘Love & Hip Hop’ alumni Yandy Smith‘s recent wedding, there were some – namely R&B soulstress Jaguar Wright – who weren’t so impressed. Taking to Instagram to lend the disapproval, it wasn’t long before Michelle got word of Jaguar’s detraction and pounced to lend her own fiery response.
This, just a day after she officially announced her new ‘Cheaters’-inspired television show was green lit for VH1 and that she’s readying a re-release of her sophomore album ‘Anybody Wanna Buy A Heart.’

@leelajamesofficial @thelilmoshow @tvone how did this get cleared? I need to hear my gurl Leelee sang this on TV! Not #kmichelle … no disrespect but don’t she got her own love songs? Or, were they just not good enough? No shade! Just blinding light! At least it will bring awareness to a truly inspiring project! Sorry this one caught me off guard. BTW … #loveandhiphopthewedding how do we really feel about this? Has reality-based TV crossed a sacred line?
K. Michelle’s Response (courtesy of TSR): To boot, Michelle’s fan base – #Rebels – followed their leader’s suit and flooded Wright’s page with negative remarks. The result? The songstress went on the defense and uploaded a series of “clap back” videos like this:
I’m now done with this! Stop bringing up old ish! That was yesterday! Deal with today! @kmichellemusic @leelajamesofficial @luenell @msingridb @mreldgreen A video posted by Jaguar Wright (@jaguarwright) on
In other K. Michelle news, the songstress took to Forbes magazine recently to offer some exciting announcements, including an endorsement deal with Jack Daniels, re-release of her sophomore album ‘Anybody Wanna Buy A Heart,’ and more (via Forbes):
K: I am the first African-American who’s ever had a contractual endorsement by [Jack Daniels]. I’m taking a lot of fans with me to the BET awards, and that’s all on J.D.
K: I am opening my first business, a hookah bar and lounge in Atlanta. We have the liquor license in process. I’m not just the face of it. It’s my real business, my lane, everything. I’m also opening up a beauty shop on my old college campus, because I feel like girls need to be beautiful and I’m going to make the prices reasonable.
K: …We’re repackaging the album Anybody Wanna Buy A Heart? – it’ll be out with the TV show. It’s a different sound. I’ve been back and forth with everybody as to the direction of my growth, and I’m just rebelling, following my heart. If you can’t follow your heart, you can’t follow anything.
There was growth on that album. It did great for r&b, and I’m going to re-package it and now I’m going to get into the music that I feel, that I love, and I’m not going to let anybody box me because of the color of my skin or my past. I’m going to do the re-packaging, and I’m going to do one more album. If I’m not allowed to sing the music that I want to sing, then I’m prepared to walk away.
K: I have the production company that produced Kevin Hart’s sitcom on BET currently writing me a scripted show. I’ve been really focused on acting.
Also, a brand-new show’s about to come out where I catch men cheating.
