New video alert!

JLS star Aston Merrygold aims to please with the visual for debut solo single ‘Get Stupid.’

The British-bred talent will be hoping for commercial success on his own accord with the Motown flavoured number, which arrives almost two years after his chart-topping group went their separate ways.

Watch Mr. Merrygold’s first singular offering after the jump…

Decent.

Although, we are somewhat perplexed about the throwback route Aston’s embarking on. Over the last five years, it’s been done into the ground by a laundry list of artists, hence it doesn’t necessarily feel “fresh” nor sound it either.

Still, given the “limited lanes” available to acts such as him (take from that what you will), there is an aspect of this that does feel smart.

It’ll be intriguing to see what else he’s got up his sleeve in the months ahead.

Your thoughts?

This actually reminds of Lloyd’s “Dedication to my ex” song… I mean the vocals sound exactly the same. All in all its a good song, but we know how the UK market goes, they don’t support (and I hate this term) “urban acts” there’s always that ‘one hit’ and then you hear nothing from them again. Sorry but that’s the truth!

Ummmm we have a whole urban chart!!! Urban acts do just fine in the UK. You sound ignorant… Where’s your receipts?
