Miguel is marching on to the June 30th release of his third studio album ‘WILDHEART.’
To whip up buzz, the crooner – whose new single ‘Coffee’ is heating up on Urban radio – has unveiled the project’s edgy accompanying cover.
‘Wild’ follows the free EP Mig-Money rolled out last December and is his first LP since sophomore ‘Kaleidoscope Dream’ – which spent 20 weeks on the Billboard 200.
Dope.
Now this is what you call real music with art. Years ago artists and bands such as the Ohio Players and Roy C helped start that trend. During that time it was meaningful music, not like what we’re hearing today.
Now for someone who voted down my comment certainly got a lot of homework to do because you all like junk food music instead of soul food music.
I feel he tries too hard to be abstract with his titles and covers but it just comes across contrived. Lucky for him though, his music speaks for itself
Very true
And why would you get the impression that he’s trying too hard? I’m just curious bc, for me, his image is in direct correlation to his music. If you understand his references and influences, his artwork and “titles” seem to fall right in line with what he does musically. . . And this is no slight to Miguel but, it’s all been done before. So again, where and why do you feel a sense of pretense?
Nah, you are just negative… That’s all.
I love it. It reminds me of something that Prince might do in modem times.
You’re absolutely right. Seeing as prince hasn’t made a dope album sense before “modem” times 😉
Yes! It is strongly influenced by Prince probably during his LOVESEXY days.
Mmmmmm I love me some Miguel
This cover would have been beautifullly executed if he didn’t have the girl in that position But because he does, this cover comes off sexist. Why does she need to be posed like that for him to make a statment? but I’m not going to go in a rant about how sexist & Homophobic Urban music can be lol I’ll just say he could have been embracing her or just had himself naked & that would have been the best statement for the World.
Unfortunately, he’s trying to sell records and as valid as your point is, it’s not a popular point of view. We live in a patriarchal society, my dear.
Some people would love it and some people won’t like it however I love it & nice
