After a brief spell away from the spotlight, Melanie Fiona bounces back with blazing new single ‘Bite The Bullet.’

Fiona, whose family hail from Guyana, draws on her Caribbean roots on the Reggae soaked track, which is the lead release from her third studio album ‘Awake.’

The set marks the singer’s first release since leaving Universal Republic and will arrive via Title 9 Productions / Primary Wave BMG.

Wasting no time spreading word of her return, Fiona is embarking on a five-city five promo tour sponsored by Verizon Wireless. Having kicked off in Los Angeles this past Friday, the trek will be making stops in New York, Atlanta and Washington, DC before wrapping in New Orleans at the Essence Festival.

Listen to ‘Bullet’ below…

Music these days is in many ways a sea of sameness, yet ‘Bullet’ stands out for all the right reasons. Just like Melanie herself.

It’s fresh, alluring, and rich in replay value.

A fire-filled comeback, which – if there’s any justice in the world – should burn its way up the R&B charts this summer.

Welcome back!

    Finally!!
I like the song, it is really speaking well to my spirit.
Unfortunately, this will be overlooked due to her being a young black woman and it doesn’t fit well with mainstream radio if your name isn’t Rihanna or Beyonce.

Nice! I like it. But I still say when artist take too much time off, they create a bigger battle for them selves. I wish her the best though.

I am so glad to finally hear some new music from my girl. This sister has a beautiful voice. I don’t care if her name is not Bey or RiRi. What God has for you, it yours.
