Its a start nobody buys albums anymore so I figured it would be hard to sell

    • BAMMMMM May 13, 2015

But…that doesn’t apply to Ciara because NOBODY has been buying her albums since like..Forever.

      • jaquala May 13, 2015

Her evolution album was good. I like ci because she kinda different

    • Rustic May 13, 2015

Jaquala, this is so tragic that everyone is into downloads for almost 20 years now. Real music cannot sleep at this time. It must come back. So is the music buying power.

Its gonna be hard for sure. I feel bad for some of these artist because they can release a good album but people won’t give them that chance.

      • jaquala May 13, 2015

What’s really crazy is the artist who are selling albums only sell because of their name. They will throw and album out with about 3-5 good worthy songs on it and it will be a number one album where you have a album from someone else and you can barely skip a track and they can’t sell 100k. The industry is a big joke to me now everyone is on the bandwagon and honestly its hard to say if any music from this era will be classic it all sounds the same.

Wow… Ciara definitely doesn’t deserve those numbers! R&b music is in a bad state right now… Atleast she slays the stages!

    • Rustic May 13, 2015

#Rowlandstone, you are so right on that one. My heart and head are hurting right now. I consider Ciara to be the Millennium Janet Jackson in the music business.

  5. smh May 13, 2015

lmao she can only sell singles

I really don’t know what happened to her. Her first 2 albums were hits and everything that followed was just not as good. I feel for her because I have been a Ciara fan since goodies and I actually do buy her albums every now n then. I think fantasy ride and ‘Ciara’ were pretty ok albums. Maybe she just needs to delve into acting and modeling. She has been trying to recapture the sound from Evolution for the last 5 or 6 years and it just hasn’t worked. I think if she would just let that idea go and focus on more current and popular sounds, she could really renew some interest.
Lullaby, Fly, How I’m Feeling, the whole sound of this last album, we’ve all heard it before and it hasn’t worked for her so it’s really redundant to keep trying to push that sound out there.

I am a huge fan of hers since say one.
Like I said in a comment before that I had posted to “T***********”, Ciara is no stranger to the hate and shade. Ciara is a great artist no matter how many records she sells. Unfortunately today, the only thing that people are interested in and base their opinion on are “First Week Sales”. Also there is people leaking albums and downloading music illegally.
I hate when people mention “she needs to go back to her roots”, “her goodies era”, “her old music” NO SHE DOESN’T! Ciara is an artist that has (hence, her second album) evolved. She has grown as an artist and matured as well. Her music will never get old because no music or songs do but she is and therefore her music is more different now. I, to be honest didn’t expect this as to be so good. She said this was her dream album and was the best record to date, I agree. I cannot even compare this record to anything she has done before. People just need to relax and stop talking all that mess. Ciara met not satisfy your record sales expectation but trust and believe she will exceed your expectations of her on a stage. And watching YouTube videos of her perform isn’t the same thing. You need to experience it firsthand to truly understand her artistry. #BMF
