Janet actually has so many slow songs that have this kind of instrumental background. She’s very much in her element here, but she’s just known more for singing all of her uptempo music. Her dynamic performance style sort of overshadows her ballads. I still think people are looking to deeply into this. Jan’s the type of artist that would want to communicate to her fans this way. I look at this the same way I’d would an interlude on her album. It’s not meant to be a song.
