Pop icon Janet Jackson has had the music industry abuzz in recent weeks following confirmation of her new album and world tour.
Like most things Janet, the rousing reveal held back on further details – namely which label the diva would be releasing her fresh material on. [Jackson left Def Jam in 2010 due to creative differences]
The speculation needn’t continue now, though, for Billboard have confirmed the 49-year-old’s new recording home.

Per BB, Jackson’s next offering will be released via BMG.
By and large, the company is most renown for its operations in music rights management and artist songwriting. BMG’s label business tends to see them act mainly as a distributor for acts with their own labels [See: Estelle].
Which begs the question: is Janet starting her own imprint and partnering with BMG solely as a distributor? Time will tell.
What we can say is that we hear Ms. Jackson is set to roll out her next project in a manner different to the usual.

Janet Jackson was a singer, popular back in the 80″s and 90″s. She’s kindof forgotten now though!!! 🙁 She’s known as Michael Jackson’s sister mostly. Michael Jackson was her biggest influence. Janet said in interviews back in her prime that she wanted to outsell Michael. Oh boy that backfired. She didn’t even come close to selling as much as him! At least Janet should be thankful to Michael for giving her the opportunity to have a music contract back in 1982. If Janet wasn’t a Jackson, she wouldn’t even had a chance to start a music career (fact confirmed by her first record label). I wish Janet luck with her new album.

None of them have yet to make albums as iconic as “Control” “Rhythm Nation” or “janet.” despite many of them pretending to. We are ready. By the time you released your 5th studio album you already had 21 top 10 hits while people like Beyonce struggle to even get 2 Top 10 hits per album you were pulling 7 out of 7 top 10 hits each.
It’s funny how it went from “many artists pretending to be amazing” to “people like Beyonce”. LOL. Janet did acquire 21 top 10 hits (after 5 albums), but Bey does have a substantial amount as well (15). She’s not walking around with 2! Bey’s also not slacking on that singles chart the way you would like to exaggerate, after all she’s obtained 36 weeks at #1 on the Hot 100 (which places her 7th of all time).

I glad Janet’s back but with the album title being Conversations in a Cafe I’m wondering wouldn’t it be interesting if the album had a mixed combination of all four of her greatest albums with modern twist added to effect 1. Control 2. Rhythmn Nation 1814 3. Janet & 4. The Velvet Rope but with what resenates with her life & world today and what she’s been through the past 7 years should be interesting I can’t wait to hear what’s on this album and I’m especially glad her Jimmy and Terry are back on the four front of this album because I have to admit I may be a Janet fan or stan however you may call it but I’m going to be completely honest I was not a fan of her last 3 albums when she got with Jermaine Dupri she was giving me lazy vocals and no driven emotional power like she normally gave on her last 4 album’s before All for you and don’t get me started on Gil’s Choreography girl bye it just was hard hitting or sensual like her past work, but let’s see what she comes up with.

Now as for Gil choreographing Rock with you it meeh so so but it wasn’t better than her past stuff and if you can compare Rock with you dance vs. Miss you Much dance Choreography then I’ll take Miss you much because the foot work was alot more cleaner and more crisper especially when it looked like Janet and the dancers were about to fall over just to pop back up and you can’t forget that epic chair routine in the end Anthony Thomas did his thang on the Choreography for Miss you much And Terry Bixler shut it down with that chair routine especially by having the hat fall on the foot just great epicness all around.

BMG? As in BMG Rights Management? The odds were already good that the album wasn’t going to sell well, now I KNOW it will flop. They’re not even a real label. This ain’t the same BMG that once owned Arista, RCA and Jive that was taken over by Sony. This BMG just leases and distribute small independents and hold copyrights. They distributed the release of Backstreet Boys last album, which flopped. They’re like eOne. They haven’t backed a commercially successful release since it was formed. LOL@anybody thinking that some kind of huge comeback is in the works here. She’s not gonna have the luxury of major label power and pampering. Her team is gonna have to handle virtually everything. @Sandra you wake up at 3:34Am in the morning just to troll o.k. but you do understand that this is a new day, age, generational time period where illegal downloading takes place s*** is being leaked etc. Many artists are not going to sell 10, 20, or even 30-40 million albums anymore in this day and age not even 8 million. And as for you not saying Janet’s not a superstar legend bull s*** the lies you tell. That you dreamt while waking up to type your shenanigans, Janet is that superstar legend not only in America but worldwide and anyways if Michael was still here he wouldn’t sell that well anyways since you talking about sales especially at this day in age. With all the new stuff that I just mentioned concerning this generation plus that stuff he had pent up against him old child molestation charges which were dropped I might add and his abrupt weirdness to life itself along with the strange controversies that plagued him so with all that he definitely wouldn’t sell to well since you wanna talk I mean look at his last two albums, and he wasn’t even here to oversee or approve the music producers just took leftover vocals that he’s thrown away. At least she still can sell more then the ones beneath her she a f****** legend with nothing to prove she’s been there done that and still remains successful.
@shady81 lol it aint that serious. I love Janet . She is definitely a legend. What last 2 Michael albums u talking about? You mean the posthumous ones? “Michael” sold 3 million WW and “Xscape” sold almost 1,8 million WW and had a #9 hit, that aint a flop.
Those numbers you speak of on Michael’s are still considered flops since the man use to sell within the 20, 30 & 40 millions hell even invincible sold more than those last two albums and had bigger hits with You Rock My World and Butterfly so there try again.
@Shady81. Nobody sells 30 or 40 million off an album anymore. In 2014 selling 1,8million is good, not a flop. It was among the top 15 best sellig albums last year
