I like it. It’s the first song of his I have been able to enjoy since “Loyal” because Fan of A Fan is straight trash. However, there is something just a little bit off about the song. I’m not sure if it is his whining voice, or the Drake type beat.

The best male performer since Michael Jackson and of the 21st century. That’s what a Chris Brown is. Funny thing is, I’m not a fan of his whatsoever, but I must give props. This 100x better than “Want You to Want Me” and that’s selling.

I remember when he previewed this while he was partying in Monaco or was it Cannes? Anyway, he does have a pretty good ear for hooks. He’s SO inspired by Brandy (been listening to her catalog these past few months) as you can hear it in the way he layers his vocals and how he extends his runs. I hear he’s releasing an album in the fall. Good luck to him.

Lol, Ever since I REALLY got into Brandy (I’ve always liked her but became a biT of a stan two months ago), I’ve been trying to look for ways to detect her influence on singers that have cited her as one. Sure, he’s a guy but Brandy’s contralto voice is perfect for him to be inspired by since her voice is on the deeper end of the spectrum. Plus, they both have really well supported lower registers. Well, maybe Chris more so in the studio because he isn’t that much of a capable live singer these days #NoShade. But yeah, the song’s dope. He has a good ear for hits.

Once you really get into Brandy’s vocals there is no coming back! She’s slays quietly on the low! You’ll find a lot of people harmonizing, riffing and using their lower register the way that she does in the industry. The stacking of Bran’s harmonies >>>> … She’s one of the very best when it comes to that! I always wanted Chris to record this way because his inflections are really interesting (like Bran’s). I’m glad their collaboration happened, I actually think it brought out the best in him.

Lol, he’s about to release his 7TH studio album in the Fall. Homeboy actually has more LPs than Beyonce and just one less than Usher and they’ve been in the game longer than he has. Take that how you will, lol. I believe F.A.M.E was certified Platinum though. Yeah, I don’t think he has that ONE standout album though his discography is quite solid. About his singing, tbh, I haven’t seen him give a decent live vocal performance on *television since 2011 (he may be delivering on tour you never know).

True, Mike was not a traditional powerhouse but at CB’s age, (let’s NOT even get into his younger years) and even when he was older, he was a MORE than capable singer. Don’t try to discredit MJ’s raw talent and skill as a vocalist just to big up Chris Brown, who at 26, has weathered away a large chunk of his instrument. Hell, he was 31 when he did that performance of ‘You Were There’ at the Grammys and that was great.

Dang, Chris is a beast when he gets it right! He sounds great on this track (I even hear some Brandy riffs going on in there). I wish this dude would just get it together. He’s probably my favorite male artist (along with Kanye), but both of them are disturbed. If CB can get his life sorted out, I know his career will continue to see new heights.
