The Grammy-nominated rapper Iggy Azalea has revealed that she believes most of her idols have fallen prey to irrelevancy in their older years.

In an interview with MTV Australia the entertainer was asked where she would like to be in the next five years.
Her answer?
Hopefully still making music in a tasteful manner. I hate seeing my idols from my teens turn into washed up pop stars. I definitely don’t want to ever be that.
Her comments come after she took to Twitter to suggest her ‘Pretty Girls’ collaboration with Britney Spears failed to fly commercially because the ‘Toxic’ singer wasn’t interested in promoting it.

The reply is said to have taken aim at Azalea’s ‘Great Escape Tour’ which was cancelled because of poor ticket sales.
Comments like these may offend fans of said “washed ups” but I doubt it’ll do much to harm Iggy‘s public image as the worst has already happened.
However, let’s hope she puts her opinions to good use for the second studio album she’s cooking up.
For, the rapper’s PR problems wouldn’t have done as much damage as they have if there was exceptional material and undeniable rap skill to mask them with.
After all, it took no more than two freestyles to restore Drake‘s credibility when he- like Iggy- was accused of using ghostwriters.
