TIDAL may not have taken the streaming world by storm, but the Jay Z backed platform is pressing on.
Today it has been announced that the service will broadcast a live charity concert featuring Jay, Beyonce, Usher, Nicki Minaj, and more on October 20th.

Christened TIDAL x 1020, the event boasts an all-star lineup of more than 20 artists including (in addition to those mentioned above) Prince, Lil Wayne, T.I., Damien Marley, Thomas Rhett. The Barclay’s Center in Brooklyn, New York will house the extravaganza.
Tickets will on sale for TIDAL members first today (September 30th) at 12 pm. ET, and for the general public on Friday (October 2nd) at 12 pm ET. Fans are encouraged to donate above each ticket’s face value, as all funds collected from ticket sales will be administered by New World Foundation on behalf of Tidal.
Stressing the inaugural event’s philanthropic focus, a press statement adds that all proceeds will benefit nonprofit organizations dedicated to advancing positive community relations and effecting systemic change for the development and sustainability of such societies. {Source}

I’m not a TIDAL subscriber but I will be checking this out. Bey and Usher better grace the stage together! Their performance of his track, ‘Bad Girl’ in 2005 was lowkey iconic and s*xy as hell. However, seeing that they’re both older, married and more mature, I’d like to see them do something more focused on their vocal talents. Kinda like what Bey did with Ed Sheeran this past weekend at the Global Citizen Festival.
The only thing that ruined TIDAL from the beginning was that ridiculous pompous announcement they made.
However, there’s still room for improvement so hopefully Jay won’t throw the towel too soon.
