Keyshia Cole is back!

Following the soft commercial release that was ‘Point of no Return‘ the independent woman swings back into action with her new buzz track ‘Don’t Waste My Time.’

Why buzz track? ‘Time’ leads the way for the first official single that will drop to support her seventh studio album which will mark her first as an independent artist.

Ready to give it  a spin?

Spend ‘Time’ with Ms. Cole below…

Not bad…not bad at all.

However, we’d say Keyshia shines brightest when telling layered stories on R&B numbers that do more to showcase her vocals and depth as an artist.

As she ventures into label-less territory the pressure is on Cole to deliver an album that connects with the masses critically if not commercially which is why we can’t wait to hear what its lead single serves up.

In a recent interview the star shared she hopes to take her sound to upbeat territory and we’d love to see do just that by placing heartfelt lyrics and infectious melodies over production that takes her sound to higher ground by fusing R&B with Contemporary Hip-Hop, Jazz and Neo-Soul.

If not, another club-driven album will see her push her fanbase even further into the arms of K. Michelle and Tamar Braxton.

Fortunately, ‘Time’ is a slow but necessary step in the right direction.

I like Keyshia (at least her first two albumss) his is a good mixtape, album filler, even a buzz single but not first single worthy..ESP if she’s is an independent artist now

      *this not his

    • mini September 20, 2015

It’s not her first single. Just a buzz one.

I don’t hear any special about this! Sorry but everything she’s done for the past couple of years has been better than her debut and sophomore album music! Kmichwlle music no matter how crazy she is her music is A1! Tamar serves vocals and Keyshia can’t sorry! She sounds a fool on the bridge of this song! I don’t get it at all!

I meant “Hasn’t” been better than her first album and sophomore album! Her music as of late has been embarrassingly cheap quality and basic lyrics! She needs to take less time taking pics on social media and more time with a vocal coach/PR/Counselor/ProfessionalAdvisor …and etc

I could have done with out the rap verses but other than that I liked this effort.

She said it was a free song for her fans. New music coming soon.
Why Young Thug?? I’m tired of this kinda robotic voice. Nice song but without rap would be better

Something is off, the 2nd verse sounds like she’s making it up as she goes along. Her voice also sounds so shaky in the chorus, like it’s dry! What’s going on with this girl?! She needs to get her hands on another ‘Heaven Sent’, these new songs aren’t saying much!

I think she was leaving the club at like 5am, was feelin it, made up the song on-the-spot in one take and then walked out the studio. And the bridge? Just no.

  6. What now September 20, 2015

It’s ok. U can’t expect 2 much from Key after she dropped the ball and let the pieces shatter her vocal cords
on her last album. Woman to Woman waz the last album she did rite. Hopefully she can find a place between The Breakthrough & Just Like You.

Let’s just hope that this new album is light years away from being like her last effort, although I do like most of the songs on that album, especially “She”, “Do That For (B.A.B.)” and “New Nu” since they were such risk-taking records. I’m guessing that she’ll have BET renew her show for a second season during the timeframe she’s promoting the album. Well, more power to her since she’s now controlling her own music. I just can’t believe that she has two multi-platinum albums and the descend she’s had since then. Hopefully, this will do good for her in regards to the general public.

So when the pic loaded before the title, it looked like k Michelle lol. But what is such a huge coincidence for me is that I was listening to “I changed my mind” earlier, wondering if she would ever regain her popularity and in that song she sings “don’t waste my time…” Lol

I was such a Keyshia fan with the first two albums. The last few albums have been horrible. Most of the songs on PONR sound like working demos in its early stage, and the vibe of her music all sounds the same as of lately. She’s the type of artist that def doesn’t need to be in control of her music creatively.

    Not good
