Vocal powerhouse Leona Lewis is clocking up those air-miles as she plugs new album ‘I Am.’

Fresh from a series of promo dates in the US, the X Factor winner jetted back to home soil to perform on the UK’s ‘National Lottery’ this evening.

The whistle stop trip precedes an aggressive Stateside push for the LP, with upcoming appearances scheduled on ‘Ellen’ and ‘Good Morning America.’

It goes without saying that there’s a lot to prove with the project, Lewis’ first for new label Island Def Jam – and her first since leaving Simon Cowell’s SyCo last year.

For now, though, watch in action below…

Decent, although we’ve seen her soar higher with more ease on past occasions.

What’s more, there were a few tricky runs towards the end, but like the seasoned pro she is, Lewis worked the imperfections into the mix impressively. So much so that they’d likely be undetectable to a non-critical ear.

All in all, a pleasant performance.

Moving forward, though, more “WOW” moments wouldn’t go amiss.

Her “Spirit” album was so well-produced! I’m glad that it was one of the biggest selling albums worldwide that year. And her “Happy” single should’ve been her first U.S. #1 and overall worldwide smash hit. She got me looking foolish on YouTube searching high and low for her Labyrinth Tour because I can’t find it anymore. That stylist was amazing.

This is a perfect example of not having to be the best singer to be the best singer. Leona sings nicely, but there is no wow factor because Leona has no emotion or passion when she sings. Yes she has a good voice but she doesn’t evoke any emotion when she sings and it’s all like singing by numbers and predictable as well as making everything sounding the same.
Leona will continue to make safe music sang blandly until she either decides to do a Jordin Sparks and go r&b or disappears into music abyss.

Unfortunately, this wasn’t a very good performance. She can definitely sing, but this was a struggle for her. I’ve seen her do 10 times better than this. Not a good look for promotion of a new album. The song…. okay.. I get the message, but it doesn’t feel very current at all. Just boring. I like her though, so hopefully she gets it together.

Album of the year by far, the songs are very uplifting. The next single should be Another Love Song. Leona is great live, can’t wait to see her next year in Manchester. The voice of our generation. FYI she has nothing to prove she has made it an is a global star.

I think it’s not exactly her singing, as everyone is saying, she can sing, “they’ve seen her soar higher,” so to me it seems it’s the song, it sounds like a ballad?? Reformatted so to speaks, I think Leona wants to make music that is powerful like her role models (Whitney Houston & Marian Carey used to), but she missed the part in the song where she could’ve taken it there, for me it was a hit or miss, and she missed it, this however is a better Leona musically, although she hasn’t had a shady past it’s all a bit safe.

Actually if you’ve seen her recent performances within the last year and heard her new album, gone are her belts and very high notes. She ditches any high notes she can when singing live. I think something happened to her voice, a la Mariah butterfly era. I love this album and listen to it on repeat, I’m just sad she’s not what she once was.
