When feigning artistry goes wrong.
Rihanna has spent all of 2015 trying to gain traction for her eighth studio album…to no avail.
A stream of mismatched singles have been released, yet public interest has all but dried up after her musical confusion became glaringly apparent to the masses.
Earlier this month, a rescue boat of sorts arrived when the LP’s title (‘ANTi’) and cover were finally decided on. However, one thing that remains is a mystery is its release date.
And, according to a new report, there’s still no definitive roll-out plan.
Hits Daily Double‘s latest Hits List shared the following:

At this point, it’s almost redundant harping on about how much of a mess this “era” has been.
Worse still is the fact that with Hurricane Adele wasting no time sweeping up the competition (and releases from One Direction and Bieber nigh), it’s hard to see any window this year (and arguably early next) that would be “ideal” for Ms. Fenty commercially.
We keep saying it – and at this junction even the Navy are starting to see – it’s perhaps best she just drop the album now, hit the touring circuit, and call it an era.
There may be ways the spin things eventually, but it’s unlikely to be on the charts or with sales figures. The sooner that’s digested, the sooner we’ll likely get the album.
Sidenote: Wondering out aloud if that Samsung comment was a cheeky nod to Jay’s “platinum on premiere”‘Magna Carta’ roll-out or suggestion that something with the phone giant could be in the works for Rih? Things that make you go hmmm. Anyway…

At this point, just drop the damn album as a surprise release. You’ll probably get more sales that way. If the album flops regardless, then just move onto the next. Either way, just accept that people have moved on to Adele, Ariana, and Taylor and that what Rihanna is suffering from is what everybody suffers from once they reach 10 years in this industry!
Why so bothered about her album release focus on your own career or Beyonce’s fading career or Rita ora’s that never happened .

i dont understand how anyone still connects the 3 songs from this year to Anti as anything but buzz singles, no one waits 8 months between single and album… If failing to find is the problem best believe they have already scrapped everything and will launch the Anti era with a new lead single…and for the past 8 months the most she has done for this album is release an album cover so i dont really see how she has been failing when she hasnt been trying

A clear example of an artist created by the machine. Def Jam pieced together every part of this girls career (including controversies) until now. She started feeling herself and thinking she didn’t need her maker(s) anymore. Now look at her, lost as hell in the desert without a release date, and that well is 95% dry…no ones excited for this album except for the fans she beat brain dead with her mic during her last days of relevancy (aka 2011)…..
Def Jam hasn’t had an #1 nor platinum album since Unapologetic. So it seems that that whole label is lost since Rihanna left. Cause it for sure ain’t Iggy or Rock Ross bringing in the sales.

To be perfectly honest I think it’s best if she just scraps this album and start over. She may not be the best vocalist by far but her songs were always fun and catchy. Plus she has such an edgy and interesting look that many can’t pull off. This new stuff from her is just not living up to the usual Rihanna hype.
